Hang in there the salary is not so bad about £1,513 after tax and N.I conts (in London) - plus dont forget the max is £28,000 with lots of possibility for promotion etc
Dependas how you look at it.. for me...
My last one was £2629 per month.. after tax and NI deductions
I agree £1513 may be ok for someone in their first job or with not much in terms of previous work experience in general though0 -

WowIt's no wonder you are having second thoughts! For me I'm in a job where I'm earning less and not enjoying the work in the slightest! .. It's a real struggle - I know I should be grateful that I have a job and I truly am but having to go there every morning and feel miserable all day is satring to wear me down.

Holly - hope you get it then.
I am really not so sure if I really want it or not and I am being tottaly honest here.
I was "forced" to apply at JC by my advisor so had no choice or my JSA would be stopped.
I do not see myself progressing within DWP, I need to get back into NHS where I have good few years of pension, know my way round etc etc.
But it is tough, very tough....0 -
If you google
DWP knowledge skills experience
there is advice on writing the competencies and points to include. This is what I did before writing mine and found it helpful.0 -
gettingready I really hope you get back into the NHS I know what it's like having to leave a job you like and are familiar with especially in terms of processes/culture etc. Sods law you'll get this one because you don't really mind one way or another
! it's always the way!! x

I can't remember exactly where I got the link from but there was one when I did the application. Someone else mentioned STAR earlier so there was something mentioned. Sorry I can't be more precise.
There is information on the DWP website though...

Ah, well. Least that's saved me any more frustration in waiting, since I didn't adhere to that framework consistently, and am therefore quite confident that I have failed.0 -

I wouldn't give up all hope!
From the scores I've seen there aren't many people getting 8's and 9's so even if you haven't used the framework, but you can display the competencies you still have a chance!0 -

You're too kind, but filling them out was pretty tough for me. I have no managerial experience, and so some of my answers were about my beliefs/approach to situations in a rather generic way, rather than using specific examples of behaviour. I did this for some competencies, but not all --had I seen that they wanted this format (which I didn't notice anywhere), I would have been more specific.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if I do get an interview, but am not counting on it now. In the words of Blackadder: "My life is strewn with cowpats from the Devil's own satanic herd." :rotfl:0
