Wow.... just Wow... what a tool.

I find the information if accurate or inaccurate interesting, and take everything with a pinch of salt. Keep them coming guys, Thanks.

Whether internal or external Band Cs cannot interview for Band C posts, its unlikely they will have had the formal training anyway at that grade. Obviously if the interviews are begin run by external people this won't apply.

The maximum people they can interview for one post is 3, therefore if there were 300 posts they can interview a maximum of 900 people.

There a few people giving out information on this thread (albeit most of it helpful to those waiting anxiously) that work for DWP. You should be aware that I have reported this thread to the powers that be as some of the information given out is corporate information you have found it in the course of or as a result of your employment at DWP. Be careful as to whether you are giving out general info that is standard or specific info about the recruitment.

From what I've read, I nor anyone else who works for DWP has posted anything that is "corporate information".

All we are trying to do is help others, indeed anything that I've posted here I've told people that I've seen on a face-to-face basis when at work signing customers.

Pretty poor form on your part if you ask me.

Surely you are guilty of exactly what you are accusing other people of?

Well as for inaccurate information your not exactly perfect yourself.

Normally you will have a Band C as one of the the interviewers because it is standard to have a post holder present.

There's no corporate information given out and everything I have read is freely available, you can of course request information through the freedom of information act.

I really don't think that "The Powers that Be" would really care about this thread, excepting of course the question from the test that was posted.

Just had a look at some of sammyjammy's posts on other and they do seem to think it's their place to advise everyone on all things DWP I can't believe anyone knows that much about so many things even if you do work there. Must be on a bonus for reporting this harmless forum. Shame on you Sammy.

Hi, I have also applied for these vacancies and have worked for the DWP before, I have a lot of friends still at my old work place and I've been told that this recruitment is going to be mainly for a new initiative to get 18-24 year olds into employment, so it's for advisors to fill that specific role?

I have also been told that the advisors are going to have to take a pretty tough line with this age group and from what I'm led to believe they either want them leaving the JC with a job or a sanction!!

Can anyone else shed any light on this or have any more information?

ETA: regarding the thread being reported, as far as I know the powers that be already know about it as there was talk of cheating in the test etc, don't think they'll be overly concerned about some small talk on a forum though...

When you are recruited as a Band C / Executive Officer you could be placed in any number of roles. When I worked for DWP previously, as a Band C (FTA) I became a New Deal advisor for 18-24 year olds. I was told that this was unusual (in that particular job centre, at least), as usually new staff started on new claims and moved on from there, gradually learning the process and roles as they went.
Working as a new Deal advisor for young people was very challenging, but then whatever role I could have been given would have been equally challenging, just in a different way. I enjoyed it though and was sad to leave.

DWP won't be able to do anything about any of the posts on here unless they can prove which member of staff submitted them and if it was in work time.

Hi honeypie, I am aware that being recruited as a band C could mean your placed in any band C role, I'm just putting out there what I've heard regarding this recruitment and I was informed that the majority of the new recruits would be for this new 18-24 year old initiative.
Not saying that's soley what the recruitment is for only that this is what I've heard and I'm not sure how much truth is in the rumour was just wandering if anyone else had heard anything about this x

As a former DWP employee/civil servant I know for a fact that this kind on information cannot be released before the recruitment process has ended. Even then, by law, you’d have to use the Freedom of Information Act to obtain those figures. My obvious question to you is: How did you get all that info (not that I don’t appreciate it in case it’s accurate)?

Hi all just wanted to get something straight the 2/15 sucess rate was from 9am to about 3pm ish and was remark not actual figures I'm very surprised to the amount of tools on this thread that talk about "freedom of information" and grassing "to the powers to be" so I'm just going to observe the thread from this point on, it's a shame really that people like to brown nose just to get noticed onece in a while. To be absolutely clear any information I have given out is general information which is being passed by other advisors to candidates in the jcp to move them back into work which I have also done but using a diff method
