I was speaking to an EO in the west brom office and she basically said that even them guys haven't been told how many people have applied or what the pass mark is.... As they put it to her " EOs have more things to worry about than to know what's happening with the recruitment process"

Thanks - and what was the pass mark set on for East London, any idea?

And how many jobs are in East London?
  • hi i know this because i work in the office the sift is taking place. 1600 passed at 80% for bham and solihull alone. there is no point in contacting them as the number is for a contact centre which are manned by Band B's, just be patient

hi all thought some of you might want to know, I am actually sitting right next to some members of staff right now who are sifting application forms, so my apologies the sift has started today for bham and solihull

Hi there, I've applied for the Black Country area and put on the work location form about 8 locations I would like to be considered for. Does anybody have any idea how they go about doing the sift (i.e. is there a central office dealing with all Black Country applications/interviews or does each office receive a copy of the application for that office e.g Wolves, Willenhall, Bilston etc) and same for the interviews, will the interviews for the entire BC area be held in a central location or at the JCP which you have put forward? Hope that makes sense lol :-)

Last time they did all the interviews at wolves office think I had mine on a Sunday morning but it could be at West Brom as that is head office. Depends on space at the end of the day some of the smaller offices wouldn't be able to accomodate so although I am only guessing I would think it would be one of these. They would be aware you have applied for more than one and when you get the call if you pass the interview they will tell you where you are going you can still ask if it is poss to go to another office within the district if it's better for you and they will check. They did with me last time and I was able to swap. Hope this helps.

Once you have the interview you are given a location form where you mark your preferences. If successful DWP then take this into consideration.

each district has nominated an office where the interviews will be held, from past experiance when I went for my band C it was at west bromwich JCP.

just a further update, I have spoken to one of the sifters, he has informed me that out of 15 applications today only 2 were successful. he believes the pass mark will be lowered as the other sifters are having the same problem, applicants have not understood the competencies properley and the layout in which they have been written is all wrong. I'm a bit sceptical about this as it's band C's doing the sift, I'm sure I've read in guidance that it has to be done by one Band D and one C. why am i not suprised lol
