It's definitely a Basic Disclosure Scotland Check that they do which is merely a check for unspent convictions. I had one when I was onn a fixed term appointment.

It probably says CRB on the website as they used a standard generic template for the advert.

Never even heard of one of these Scottish thingies until today, what happens if the Scots get cut loose? :D

I don't mean to be funny but me and many other people are using this forum to seek additional information in regards to our applications for the dwp EO positions.... If I wanted to pro-actively challenge how taxpayers money is spent.

    1. I would open a new forum and discuss such ideas
    2. Write a letter to my local MP
    3. If I was that passionate Id go all the way to London and protest outside the houses of parliament.

Thats nothing against yourself but I think it should be done somewhere else.:A:D

Well said. Maybe they failed the test and feeling unhappy. (joke). Anyway enough time wasted has anyone got any up to date new on the applications yet. I can't see them starting the interviews on the 8th my status is still the same as it was when I finished the test.

appalled, your point may be perfectly valid but it's better said in another topic really.
  • *Steps over troll"*

My status has stayed the same. If people aren't hearing from next week I seriously doubt they'll stay on target - especially if they're interviewing 20 per position in some districts as has been said.

Did you not take on board what I said about the fact that I AM being proactive; how I'm doing that is a matter for the more politically interested but I have to say that the desperation I've seen on this forum is most unedifying. Good luck with your application but it's not really for you to censor this forum! May I paraphrase Voltaire 'I may hate what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it'!

I take it that you did fail the test then in which case why don't you grind your axe elsewhere because Im sure I'm not just speaking for myself when I say I am bored with you now.
  • I don't know what made me so special to be specifically addressed but I chose to ignore his rant.
  • I didn't apply for this vacancy but has no-one ever questioned what the percentile scoring system means? Forget about aptitude, background or capability, just tick enough boxes and you're in! Why don't some of you people question anything? Sad to say, Britain is choc-a-bloc with sheeple. It makes the perfect captive audience - please think for yourselves (I know that there are many well-intentioned and sincere people subscribing to this forum, however, I feel saddened when people are grateful for !!!! jobs when they are qualified for so much more). Sure, the economic climate is woeful but please don't sell yourselves short! There is a sinister hidden agenda here and, despite the 'austerity' soundbites we're constantly being fed, there's more money about than we're being led to believe. Please don't accept this 'drip, drip, drip' mind control that's being perpetrated!!!

May I ask what alternative you propose? I believe I think for myself but, despite a plethora of excellent qualifications, I can't seem to get a job that pays above minimum wage. In comparison, getting a job at the DWP, which offers prospects and a decent salary, seems like a dream. If you can offer me some kind of viable alternative (that doesn't involve having multiple children and claiming thousands in benefits for doing not very much) I would be interested to hear it.

Let's not entertain the troll, they seem intent on derailing this thread and insulting people.

Appalled12 - start a discussion elsewhere on your own thread if you don't want to be a complete troll, I might even join in there but this is definitely not the place.

I think I shall now do what all intelligent people have done a propos this forum and log off since, sadly, some of you obviously cannot compute being disagreed with in any way, which is the hallmark of a non-curious individual. 'A plethora of excellent qualifications - doubt it'! Don't worry about having multiple children; Jobcentre Plus is the best place to have them since you can hang around for years and multiply to your heart's content, all at the British Taxpayers' expense! As for Mommarat, don't be so sexist since you won't last long at the Jobcentre. Bonne Chance - you're going to need it!!!

What a charming individual! Well, I was trying to be civil but trying to get trolls to play nice is like getting blood out of a stone. Notably, no alternative was proposed and instead, more insults were levied. We shall waste no more time or energy on this clearly disturbed character. Joining a forum just so he can insult the posters to bolster his own ego, how delightful!
