DWP Recruiting Again - 2012
Comments

If they are expecting Bristol to get a CRB check back in 4 weeks they will be highly dissapointed. My last enhanced CRB took 16 weeks and the last normal one I had done took 9 weeks. Its now taking the organisation I work for 6 months to recruit someone......
They will do a basic check and turnaround is 10 days maximum (under normal circumstances).0 -

possibly a week after that, hey have 1600 applications to sift and only 63 positions0 -
If it has really taken this long to schedule a meeting to decide on the pass mark for the test and the sift isn't scheduled to start for another ten days, then this is going to be a very, very long process!
The April start dates are suddenly looking a little optimistic!
this is typical DWP behaviour, they will promise all the training in the world but in the actual fact they make you do the "keeping safe course" which is mandatory before they let you "loose" on customers for the first few months new joiner will find it very difficult to adapt to the working styles of the DWP0 -

Do you speak from experience or observations? It all depends on the background of 'new joiner'. Equally someone moving from a large, structured organisation might find it difficult to adapt to the working practises of a small firm. However you can't make sweeping statements like that, I had no problem adapting (adapting to what I'm not quite sure), neither did any of my colleagues who joined DWP at the same time I did.0 -

Do you mean just whilst they process your application?
Because the job vacancy said ;Security
Basic check
Criminal Records Bureau Check
This post requires a Criminal Records Bureau Check
Unless that was specific to certain areas?0 -
How do you know they only have 1600 applications in birmingham?0

speaking from experiance, as I have trained staff for under a week only to be told by management that they ok to advise customers as they have done the keeping safe course and have there telephone license from BT. I my self had only 1 week training. it's quite common practice in the larger districts such bham & solihull0
