Sorry to hear that. Better luck with DWP job:)
  • I have it on good authority that the sifting process has been delayed for external vacancies. The passmark for the online tests that is being used at the moment is 80%. This does not mean however than if you scored less you are out of the running, as the passmark may be lowered dependent on the numbers of each district. As it stands at the moment, if you have 80% or higher your application will be looked at. If you got in the 70s you MAY still have a chance, any less than this and it's not looking good unfortunately.

It maybe different for different areas. Not sure if they all have to start at the same time. Only a few areas didnt advertise externally because they thought they could fill the posts with the staff they had. Most of us have had to go external the same a everyone else the only advantage we have is that we may here a bit of news before people who dont work for dwp at the moment. I have already been EO in last recruitment and had to train others to do my job before dropping back down to AO. Only been back as an AO since last Feb and now had to go through all this again just to get a job back that this time last year I was doing. Not that I am bitter or anything. lol:(

In London districts 80% sounds right though.

If that's the case, I can wish goodbye to my application. Must say though that the best part of the whole process was reading about everyone's experiences on this board. I'm looking forward to reading about your interview experiences and wish you all the very best of luck, you deserve to go far!

With my mere 71% I can say goodbye too - yes, London (East).

Don't give up yet nothing has been finalised and also they will run the waiting list for 6 months. The turnover in DWP is quite high so don't give up hope. Best of luck to everyone.
  • I'm still waiting (nervously) for any news. I have had no feedback as of yet.

However, I'm taking rumours of the process with a pinch of salt at the moment. If scores are the basis for the initial sift, shouldn't applicants below the cut-off threshold have been rejected already? It's a computerized exercise, so it shouldn't be too time consuming just to "bin" lower-scoring applications.

Having said that, maybe I'm talking guff. Have a friend who scored around the 70th percentile I'd like to see do well. Ah well, good luck to everyone. x
  • HI, Does anyone know the figures for the North West ( Manchester east and west districts) exercise? ie how many applications, what percentile they will be using for sift, and how many eo's they will be recruiting externally?
