Even when I was doing my application I was thinking that there must be loads of people with no experience of managing people so perhaps on this question they only answered the second part ( the managing performance bit) ..... Looking back it was quite difficult to distinguish between managing performance and the leadership question as they could be considered the same thing....

2/15 is shocking though! But good for me if they just lower this freakin boundary to 68

just thought if 2/15 got through then that would be 216 out of the 1600... Didn't you say earlier that they want to take only around 200 people to the interview so this number would make sense...

Sifting is happening in Gloucs/West of England as we speak. Only those who got 80% or more are currently being sifted, no decision yet on if that will be lowered. If you fail the sift completely you are being notified, if you "pass" you will be put in rank order then the top howevermany will be given an interview.

Obviously i dont know what the sift pass score to get an interview is until the end of the sifting.

Sifting has been done for some of the internal only vacancies.

It's wise to keep checking your CS jobs, as I was not notified that my competencies had been scored. They just appeared one day under the "feedback" part of CS jobs. Each statement is marked out of 9, with generic comments selected by whoever marked it.

I managed to secure an interview with pretty mediocre marks, (maximum I achieved was a 7 and lowest a 4) which is now taking place at the end of next week. You have to score at least a 4 (out of 9) to achieve the competency, and I have been told that if you fail just one of the competencies then your application will be unsuccessul. How true this is though, I don't know. There are all sorts of rumours flying around at the moment!

Still waiting for news about the external positions, as someone posted above they are currently only sifting those who scored 80 or more in the tests. Not sure how they're handling those who applied to different districts either (whether they'll be marked twice by different people, etc).

I'll keep update this thread if I hear anything more.

I think the interview has to be 1 band C and one band D not sure about the sift

Whether internal or external Band Cs cannot interview for Band C posts, its unlikely they will have had the formal training anyway at that grade. Obviously if the interviews are begin run by external people this won't apply.

The maximum people they can interview for one post is 3, therefore if there were 300 posts they can interview a maximum of 900 people.

There a few people giving out information on this thread (albeit most of it helpful to those waiting anxiously) that work for DWP. You should be aware that I have reported this thread to the powers that be as some of the information given out is corporate information you have found it in the course of or as a result of your employment at DWP. Be careful as to whether you are giving out general info that is standard or specific info about the recruitment.

I appreciate your point sammy but even if the points people working in the dwp are making are inaccurate no one on the forum is speaking bad of the dwp.....

I think you should let it slip at the end of the day this forum isn't disrupting you from earning your ££££ and paying your bills....so why care if people working within the dwp have found out a bit of info and wish to share

if you have reported this thread why are you telling us. No-one on here even if they work for Dwp knows 100% what is going on. No one has said anything bad about the DWP and to be honest haven't you just given us some information on this post
