What place/number are you on the waiting list? I was told I was 16th on the Birmingham/Solihul this wednesday.0 -

I am more angry at the fact that I applied for a job that was in travel reach, I worked out how far I could go and applied for those positions, I also only applied for PT hours to, I have a health condition which makes full time hours very difficult. . .
But I would have done anything in order to get back to work, but the DWP are making this impossible for this position
I hope you all do well in your new jobs and I am sure I will find the right one soon enough.
Best wishes folks0 -

Hi Mark, As I said if I didn't have my son to think of I would happily get up at 6am to get there, its a great job and you have no idea how much I wanted it. I have spent the day searching for childminders and checking out travel and its just not possible for me to do it.

Oh no, it's sad to hear you have to face that situation, I understand it's tough but did you consider temporarily moving away around the job centre on rent?. And applying for the transfer as soon as you become permanent in 6 months. This job is really good ,with economy going downhill and reducing benefits, pensions etc, a steady source of income for years to come. Sometimes it's easier that way, but again I don't know your situation, wish you good luck whatever you decide.0 -
Does anyone know when we will be paid? I start work next Monday...will I be paid on the 28th June for the 2 weeks I have worked or will I have to wait until the end of July and then be paid for 6 weeks?0

I checked this out as I also start on Monday and apparently the cut-off for the pay run is the 15th June so we won't get paid until the end of July.
The coordinating manager for SE/East Scotland told me that there's a pay advance system for new starters though so it's worth discussing with your line manager at an opportune moment (I'm not planning on it being the very first question I ask...maybe third or fourth :-))
Really looking forward to Monday; it's like new school all over again!0 -
