Ok folks finally got the call

Good luck to all those still waiting, seems longest wait ever and as a civil servant I wasnt check for convictions etc or a was a ref asked for , all that was requested was my started date in the civil service how I was recruited , my working pattern , and was I vetted etc and was my I.D confirmed0 -

and just in time for my hols!
my CS department does allow new entrants, who have missed the the pay run date, to get a pay advance for the end of the month and then have it deducted from the overall pay from the next months pay.
Also remember you work a month in arrears (ie the work you do in June you get paid for at the end of the following month).0 -
What about of you're already in the civil service? I'm starting on the 18th so surely I'll get paid by my previous department at the end of June? Or I've heard they just pay your entire wages and claim it back from DWP or something?0

If shared services have just emailed me to ask for 2 personal references so they can do my security checks does this mean I'm in line for an offer?
I'm currently on reserve list and I am trying not to get my hopes up but maybe...just maybe???0 -

I been told my Depratment will pay me up to the day before I take up my new post
Was advised they would pay to the end of the month if I was transfering to a new post with in a simlar group ie from the court service to the tribunals service if the both came under MOJ0 -
On the DWP internal intranet is says something about a supplementary pay run to pick up new starts. I cant remember the dates exactly, but Im sure I read something that said if you start before the 21st there will be a 2nd pay run that will pay wages on the 5th of July.
Dont take my word on that though, I cant remember exactly what I read. However, others are correct in saying that they also operate a pay advance scheme where you can ask for half of your wages up front.0 -
Hi Mark, As I said if I didn't have my son to think of I would happily get up at 6am to get there, its a great job and you have no idea how much I wanted it. I have spent the day searching for childminders and checking out travel and its just not possible for me to do it.
I am more angry at the fact that I applied for a job that was in travel reach, I worked out how far I could go and applied for those positions, I also only applied for PT hours to, I have a health condition which makes full time hours very difficult. . .
But I would have done anything in order to get back to work, but the DWP are making this impossible for this position
I hope you all do well in your new jobs and I am sure I will find the right one soon enough.
Best wishes folks
I know exactly how you feel, Had a nightmare getting enough ID for them to apply for the job only now to be told that my CRB was returned with insufficient ID. Now I have to take my old passport etc back down to them so they can try and get it done for me.
They told me they are happy to put so much effort into getting my ID together as i scored so highly but that this is the last option they have and if my old passport isnt enough for CRB they will have to reject my offer.
Really disheartened especially as they also asked me if I have made any effort to improve my ID since applying, where do they expect me to magic the money for a passport from?
This has been the longest six months of my life and there is still no end in sight, this job would have changed my life massively and i feel really gutted that something so silly as my ID is letting me down, especially as i have already had about 5 CRB's done in the last 4ish years. IM crossing everything that they can use my old passport but to be totally honest im running out of hope.
DOes anyone know where CBR stand on out of date passports?
THanks
