Oh ok. He might of misunderstood because he was told he's got 22 days holiday between now and next June. His Birthday is in March?0 -

Not unless they changed the policy since I left in 2011. It's a year from your birthday month. So he should get a prorated amount from now till the end of Feb then another 22 days from 1st March 2013. When you join you get an alignment allocation.0 -

Many areas just allocate 22 days on arrival and then do proportionate calcs in year 2. Reason for this is because annual leave entitlement increases to 25 days after a year so managers would be constantly calculating part year entitlements if they work to birthday month from day one.0 -
Ah great, another pay freeze? Does this effect progression within band as well as base band inflation increases?
TBH I`m not sure, but then I have been at the top of the AO payscale for 20 years, so I havent had a progression rise for that long !
As for your second point, there will be NO payrises (despite what % inflation is at) for those of EO and above.
(After all, were all in this together .....)0 -

Sorry to be the one to say it, but there is no automatic progression within pay bands in the Civil Service. To qualify for a rise you must be rated as 'wholly exceptional' in your annual appraisal. In most areas managers never rate anyone as 'wholly exceptional'.:(
This has been an issue for some years. As has been the continuing dispute over pensions. I strongly suggest that everyone joining the DWP in this recruitment seeks out the PCS and joins asap!:cool:0 -
any east Londoners on reserve list received provisional offers?I emailed them yesterday to know my position on the list.My score is 32.0

The pay freeze affects anyone earning 21k - so our pay won't rise for a couple of years. That said, I currently earn 14k and have done for nearly 4 years so really don't care!0

Finally they changed the status to firm offer and the letter says the pension is 4.7%. It used to be 3.5 for all pay scales. I don't know if I would want to take dwp pension or Private pension?. Lots of risk with dwp pension. Those who got the offers , any thought on it?.
Wish you good luck those waiting for the offers.0
