Finally.....finally...finally.....got the CALL today. Recap on the tedious journey:

11 Jan - App sent
1st May interview
22 April - put on reserve list
25 April - provisional offer
6 June - Firm Offer

Many thanks guys, was following the forumn silently. Twas good to know I was not alone and that helped `kill` the anxiety.

Those still waiting hang in there - the call is coming, i think this has been a massive recruitment and they are sort of overwhelmed.

I didnt get my preferred locations, but then again, in this recession, quite happy to accept the offer. Not sure whether I`ll drive or commute, train will take my 30mins, at a cost of about 200pounds monthly.

Many thanks to all who contributed along the journey - very much appreciated.

Any news from Kent area ?? Was told today that all offers should be in by end of next week !! Ha ! Was also informed that any references will be taken up after start date given, not sure how correct that is ??

Hi Vegas, I've still not heard anything.Won't hold my breathe for this week then ....can't believe we're looking at yet another week! Really thought we'd hear before the bank holiday.
Out of interest who told you about the timescales?
Re: references, I was asked to provide 2 personal references mid-May and both were contacted immediately, my business references haven't been contacted.
Please do post when you hear, I'll do the same. Hope you get the location you want - Good Luck

Hi, I got Didcot. The lady I spoke too said someone else was starting on the 18th June. I'm starting on the 11th, I just wanted to get In there ASAP.

Hi lassie,

I emailed the shared services (Kent), then spoke to someone who was actually helpful on the recruitment line who confirmed the timescales, who knows how accurate it is !! The email said they are waiting for my work confirmation, my work hasn't heard though!
My wife already knows of internals being posted, also an external, so who nows when we'll hear...
I'll post you when or if I hear...good luck:):)

Ahhh I got offered Didcot but asked if Oxford was available and got a place there (bit closer to me) I start on Monday too!

Congratulations on your fantastic news ... you finally got there!

Can I just clarify when you say North East which region are you exactly referring to? Northumberland/Tyne and Wear or Durham/Tees?
