Jess do you know if the carried out a CRB check on you as you were a current CS???

I doubt it. I was told that they wouldn't need to, so when I didn't have the relevant details to complete the form at inetrview (electricity supplier code) I was told to leave it blank and not to worry, so if they HAD done one, I'd have had to provide that.

    Hey guys

Just to let you know I'm a current CS and disclosure Scotland have just confirmed they haven't received any paperwork for a crb check on me, at the interview I was told I wouldn't need one as I am already CS.

My references haven't been contacted either as I have checked with both of them.

Does anyone else know what checks they do? As I still haven't had the 'phone call' yet and not sure what the hold up is??

    Thanks

I was told the same but have hear folks on here post that CS for Departments other that DWP applying the for external post would require a discourse check

I called disclosure Scotland and they said that same that they hadn’t haven’t had a request for me , That made me anxious as my dept hadn’t been contacted and I accepted the offer back on the 19th of April

I am an existing CS (not DWP) & i had my formal offer last week some time, after nearly 5 wks of waiting, got my first choice office as a PA.

The co-rdinator rang me & said they were waiting for HR (ESSR) to confirm i was able for promotion with no disciplinarys & that i was eligible, she advised that they had been waiting for 4 wks but said that so long as my line manager & HEO could check on RM & confirm, she would be able to offer, so thats what they did & once they did she rang me straight back.

    Hello JessStar,

Thank-you for your email. We are currently awaiting confirmation from {your current CS) to advise us you were employed through the 'fair and open' system. Thank-you

Jess I got the exact same reply from the DWP. I emailed them back and they give the following reply:

At this time we are awaiting information from your pre-recruitment checks being returned from [your current CS].

We request this information from the other government department, however sadly due to the size of the exercise it is taking time to clear these checks. Once the business has this information they will be in touch with you.

There is nothing I can send that will speed this process up, and all I can do is to apologise for the delay.

    Regards

    Thats great news!

I have just had an email back from DWP they are still waiting from my HR department to get back to them.

Will chase up again next week after the bank holiday!

I can't believe that my CS department have dragged their feet for 4 weeks!! Unreal

I have finally had my formal offer through today and I nearly cried on the phone to the lady due to the location!!! I know I should be happy as it's a job with which many, many people would over the moon with. The location I have been given is one that I specifically said I could not get to, so its obvious the perference forms were a waste of time, I swear locations are picked out of a hat. When I said I couldn't get there it was pretty much tough, if you dont take this your back at the bottom of the list.
I will be crying into my cider all over the Jubilee Weekend and have to think long and hard about accepting!
Enough being miserable, I'm off to the pub, enjoy the weekend all!!

MissK36, I'm really sorry to hear that, I think that's the outcome we are/were all dreading. Were you a SE Wales person (sorry if I have you mistaken). Where did you get offered?

Hi JessStar, I wonder why there is no consistency in their processes. I am also current CS yet I was contacted long back and I doubt they checked this "fair and open" thing for me. Can't believe your current department is taking so long to respond. Now the long weekend......try & enjoy it !!!
Hope you hear something next week.

Sorry to hear this, hope you can work something out with them next week. I was the same by the way. Got offered one of the only two locations I had not ticked on the form. Can't believe they are being so rigid about stuff. What region are you?
