For anyone who has been told in the north west where they're going do you mind if I ask what your score was and when your start date is?
Thanks0 -
Hi Sara, thanks for your reply. On CS page under 'view communication' there is nothing showing that relates to the offer. The last thing relates to the reserve list email of 21 April. Maybe, because there's been no email confirming the offer there's nothing showing in 'view comm'. It's frustrating not knowing when the offer was made, seems odd that they have not sent an email either.
Although my partner was made redundant 2 years ago, that particular job had only lasted 6 weeks and ended very acrimoniously with ACAS being involved! So, an obvious concern is that this company will not be inclined to supply any sort of ref. Prior to that, he sub-contracted for 5 years to a company who would be happy to give a reference for him, although technically, he was self-employed, submitting invoices etc. So, in terms of previous employer, wondering if we can leave out the 'baddy' one and just go with the sub-contracted one and a personal ref too? Mind you, if they need to ascertain HMRC history etc, maybe we can't leave the baddy out. What would happen if they chose not to respond though, can't bear the thought of losing this after all this time..... Maybe he should just ring up and ask? Any thoughts greatly welcome, thanks
Dwp wants only and only 3 years history. They need character reference, Could be friend, or colleague. And employment reference, if self employed in the last three years then it could be hmrc. They will contact hmrc and will get all the work history. These checks are integrity checks too, so what you say should match with with hmrc.
Don't worry about negative reference or no respond from employer. By law in uk , an employer cant say negative things but only can omit positive things. As they check employment history by sending out paper reference , if not responded they will contact by email. The email will ask only confirmation of dates. No comments etc.
If you tell them in advance that certain employer will not respond then they will not keep waiting ion that specific check and will pass your checks depending on all other checks are true and character reference are good.
Remember : these checks are to certify your integrity. Don't hide information. If the employer does not get back to them in two weeks time, they will proceed. You can help dwp to fast the process, email them in advance and mention that why employer may not respond, in my case I told them that I had an issue .... Xyz.It's common to have employer and employee issues, Dwp did not wait for that particular person n cleared my checks based on all other references and information I had provided were good. Hth0 -
I was told via email on 14th May that i'd passed all my checks and I got my offer today (2 weeks later) hth
I emailed them to check up on the checks and they replied to tell me everything had passed.
Must be such a relief to get your offer :T Did you e-mail the central team (ESSR) or local recruitment team? I'm thinking of doing the same as I just want to know everything is ok and it's just a waiting game.0 -

Yes definitely just to hand my notice in was liberating! I emailed a woman who had contacted me about a further reference. She was based in the Shared Services team. Maybe email them and just say you wanted to check that everything was ok? I think their waiting till everyones checks come back before offering though so yours may be fine but others may still be waiting for their crb to come back iyswim.
Hang in there! Also I missed the call first typical as been sitting on the phone for past month but it was in my pocket and I didnt hear it ring!:p The lady left a message with her contact details. So anyone worried about missed calls they will leave a message with their number so dont worry!0 -

Would expect you'll get some news very soon (before the bank holiday weekend hopefully) - at least you know the checks are complete and there has been some contact made, sounds like you're nearly there. Fingers crossed you get what you want.
Day 28 for me and still nothing....aaagh
fingers crossed - Got a email today as chased the recruitment person. got a call from one of my personal refs -they gave me the person that sent the personal ref requests email. i emailed him and very helpful - told me all info collected and moving me on to next stage

Thanks for that, will just put down all info and hope for the best. Helpline said to put note against ref stating any potential probs...
Jst heard tho that location is 35 miles away and 1.5 hours away by train, £15 return each day!!! No car available for my partner to use. Dunno what to do now, what chances of getting in the door and then requesting a transfer closer to home?
Anybody got any experience or advice with regards to this please?0 -

Good luck. I emailed them over a week ago asking for an update and got nothing. In the provisional offer email they say they say they will keep you updated on their progress, which I find amusing. 6 weeks since provisional offer, and after having to turn down training this month for my current job due to this, (which is worth £2000 and I would ace been paid £300 to go) it's safe to say I am now !!!!ed off.0 -

Hi I emailed them and it took them 2 weeks to get back to me. It's really frustrating not being able to contact anyone to check on your progress. I can't find the number anywhere I've spoken to people I know who work at the JC and they haven't got access to it either.

Hi, sorry I can't give you any advice as I haven't heard anything from essr. Do you have a help line number?
