Thanks for that, will just put down all info and hope for the best. Helpline said to put note against ref stating any potential probs...
Jst heard tho that location is 35 miles away and 1.5 hours away by train, £15 return each day!!! No car available for my partner to use. Dunno what to do now, what chances of getting in the door and then requesting a transfer closer to home?
Anybody got any experience or advice with regards to this please?

Hi tabitha. I'm sorry to say that once in the door there is an 18 month period that applies before you can ask for a transfer. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The helpline no is 0845 6032694. Hope that helps.
  • Received 'the' phone call and was given a confirmed offer for West Yorkshire this afternoon after receiving and accepting a provisional offer on 10th May.

Start date is July 9th, then on to 6 weeks of training.

On a side note, the lady on the phone told me that as I've now accepted a job in W Yorkshire, I will be taken off the reserve list for the North West and Derbyshire. She also mentioned I was 'quite high' on the reserve list for the NW with a score of 35.

Good luck to all those still waiting.

Just received a phone call from a lovely lady confirming my offer in my preferred location, I have to choose a start date. I couldn't do it at the time I was too exited. I'm in the Thams Valley region. Good luck everyone else.

  • Im still waiting like loads of people :(

Can I ask a favour of people from the Durham and tees area. Could you post (or PM me if you dont want to put it public) your score from interview, if you have had the formal offer yet, and if so where you were offered? I just would like to get a picture of how the process is working :)

Im still waiting, with a score of 40 (8,8,8,8,8) at interview.

    Hi,

I applied for a job at the DWP for up-to 16 weeks of work while the advisor's go on holidays etc. over the summer period.

I passed the assessment day (Maths and English test, which I thought I failed) and I have been invited to an interview this coming Friday.

Has anyone attended an interview with the Jobcentre? What kind of questions do they ask? Is there any exercises or role-plays they ask for you to do?

Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated :)
Examples of competencies, STAR method, pls chek the earlier posts to get an idea and further infrmaion on this. There is a document on dwp site with competencies for grade b and c.
    Good Luck.
