The wait is finally over and the offer for south east Scotland is in. Good luck to everyone else... Hopefully not to much of a wait now!

    Congrats

I got an email that all checks are done and they will contact me soon. So I will be by the phone whole day.

Yes good news is at the corner, thankfully this region is ahead of the game .

I think you should be ok...they are so snowed under with this recruitment phase which should work to your advantage. If you click on 'view communication' on your CS page it should show you the date of the offer.

You say your partner was made redundant 2 years ago, can he not put that one down as a reference and then give a personal one?

    Good luck x

Hi Sara, thanks for your reply. On CS page under 'view communication' there is nothing showing that relates to the offer. The last thing relates to the reserve list email of 21 April. Maybe, because there's been no email confirming the offer there's nothing showing in 'view comm'. It's frustrating not knowing when the offer was made, seems odd that they have not sent an email either.

Although my partner was made redundant 2 years ago, that particular job had only lasted 6 weeks and ended very acrimoniously with ACAS being involved! So, an obvious concern is that this company will not be inclined to supply any sort of ref. Prior to that, he sub-contracted for 5 years to a company who would be happy to give a reference for him, although technically, he was self-employed, submitting invoices etc. So, in terms of previous employer, wondering if we can leave out the 'baddy' one and just go with the sub-contracted one and a personal ref too? Mind you, if they need to ascertain HMRC history etc, maybe we can't leave the baddy out. What would happen if they chose not to respond though, can't bear the thought of losing this after all this time..... Maybe he should just ring up and ask? Any thoughts greatly welcome, thanks

Just got my firm offer for East London wahoo starting on 25th June. They said their doing bi-weekly start dates so it was either that or 9th July (but that wont work well for my pay etc). I'm supposed to give 4 weeks notice but I'm hoping my manager will let me leave earlier. Fingers crossed!

    Hi,

I applied for a job at the DWP for up-to 16 weeks of work while the advisor's go on holidays etc. over the summer period.

I passed the assessment day (Maths and English test, which I thought I failed) and I have been invited to an interview this coming Friday.

Has anyone attended an interview with the Jobcentre? What kind of questions do they ask? Is there any exercises or role-plays they ask for you to do?

Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated :)
  • Amy, I am TV as well, can I just say, with scores like that, you will be more than fine. Have you been told where you will be offered at all?

Seriously, don't panick, you are OK.

I haven't been told anything. I initially had a problem with my crb check as they didn't have my driving license number. I emailed ESSR a few weeks ago to tell them this. They emailed me back on Saturday telling me everything was fine, but I had already had the crb back and had sent it to them. I still haven't had my crb back and they received it on the 18th May. Have you had any information? I'm finding it really difficult as I cannot call them just to discuss what's happening. It appears that some people know where they came on the list, I know nothing!

    Hello,

How did they contact you? Was it by email, I'm still waiting. I don't want to leave my phone in case they call, it's driving me crazy!

Did you get contacted by e-mail re: completion of the checks? Would expect you'll get some news very soon (before the bank holiday weekend hopefully) - at least you know the checks are complete and there has been some contact made, sounds like you're nearly there. Fingers crossed you get what you want.
Day 28 for me and still nothing....aaagh

Don't worry, you scored high in your interview, so are likely to be one of the first contacted. I got my crb back a week before you and still haven't heard anything (different district).
Some people know where they are on the reserve list but this doesn't apply to you as you have a provisional offer. Hang in there, hopefully it won't be much longer :)
