ho well, sent my email a week ago (nice and short) just requesting my position on the reserve list and no reply yet :( ppl who have already been notified, how long did they take to reply? thank you x

I emailed on the Monday and got my first reply [for BC] on the Wednesday.
I emailed again on the Wednesday asking for all the districts [BC,BS & SS] and I got a reply on the Friday.
Knowing my position helped a bit but still confused about my position for BC - it's either 65th or 99th! :rotfl:

I think that everyone should be aware of this. My employer handed me a letter this morning which says.

"To whom it may concern, the above named person has applied for a post with DWP
they have informed us that they have worked with you from.....to present at........and we need to verify this information before we can continue with our action."

    blah, blah, blah.

So be aware they are contacting your current employers, which may put you in a bit of a predicament as it has me :(

Gawd! Sorry to hear this csmw. I am guessing you put them down as a reference?

!!!!! What?! Did you put them down as a reference?! I haven't - and I don't want them contacting them before I've told them I'm leaving!

Yeah I did but I put a specific person who knew I'd gone for the job...I'm really annoyed as if I dont pass the checks I reckon it will become quite tense at work.

I phoned the person named on the letter and she said 'well you ticked the box saying we could contact them'...I don't remember that

You'd think if you put down a named person the letter or at least the envelope would have their name on it!

Argh..... I just want to go now!

The wait is KILLING me, and work is horrid at the moment, which I'm sure is compounded by the fact that I know I should be leaving soon.

Still, at least I've managed to finish my apprentiship today before I leave. Bonus :)

It shouldn't be long now Jess. If some applicants are starting next week then the rest will surely be starting very soon afterwards. ;)

Next week! That's pretty quick. Suppose, training requires people coming in small groups. So when is the next batch coming? Hopefully not after internals have finished their training. :o
