Erm, I belong in that group, sadly!
However, I think the message is more about the length of time some staff could potentially have been in the job for, set in their ways, begrudging change etc
At least, that was my experience when I was a FTA.
I thiink that new staff, regardless of their age, will be more varied in their experiences and ready for the challenge.
In other news.... I have just received a letter from Shared Services, telling me that I requested that the CRB came to me and could I forward it on when it arrives. I absolutely, definitely ticked the box for it to go straight to them.
I mentioned this in an earlier post - I received that letter too and I most certainly did not request for it to be sent to me first. However, on reading the Disclosure Scotland website it appears that the Basic Check are always sent to the named person, it's only the enhanced that get sent to the employer. It's been over a week since I received that letter from Shared Services and I still haven't received the CRB so starting to panic. I will be in absolute panic mode if it hasn't arrived by Saturday as that's over their 14 calendar days turnaround period and I go on holiday next week!0 -

Thanks
This info then begs the question - why start their letter with..... You have elected to have the Criminal Record Disclosure sent to your home address ????
And why ask you to tick a flippin box in the first place??!!
Then again I should know better - I've only been away a year and already I'd forgotten how they operate :rotfl:
Presumably we'll all get one then.
Fingers crossed yours arrives in time!0 -
Successful internal applicants in my husband's office have already been told which office they will be working at/moving to.
So far they've all been given their first choice.0 -

Hope they still have top places left for us external candidates0 -
Is that internal applicants who have applied for the internal positions, or internal applicants who have applied for the external ones? If the latter, then surely they can't have preference over location as it should go on merit. Then again nothing would surprise me!!!!£2012 in 2012 - £13810

I assume external positions because the internal applicants were all there at the same place as me on the day of my interview.
Suppose they can start the role more quickly but I also hope they haven't been given preference over external applicants re:location.0 -
ho well, sent my email a week ago (nice and short) just requesting my position on the reserve list and no reply yet
ppl who have already been notified, how long did they take to reply? thank you x

I think that everyone should be aware of this. My employer handed me a letter this morning which says.
"To whom it may concern, the above named person has applied for a post with DWP
they have informed us that they have worked with you from.....to present at........and we need to verify this information before we can continue with our action."
blah, blah, blah.
So be aware they are contacting your current employers, which may put you in a bit of a predicament as it has me0 -

!!!!! What?! Did you put them down as a reference?! I haven't - and I don't want them contacting them before I've told them I'm leaving!0 -
Yikes, that wouldn't be good!! Luckily I open the post at my current office so I can intercept that letter if it gets sent! I wonder if they're doing it for everyone, or only (if another poster on here said ages back) if they can't confirm your employment via HMRC£2012 in 2012 - £13810
