It makes you wonder why they make the reserve lists so long!!!!!! Surely they don't expect all the successful candidates to turn down their offers do they????? I know there will be the rejected ones from the multiple region candidates.........and the ones who will fail the crb checks.........and the ones with dodgy references.........and the ones who have already found work........and the ones who's circumstances have changed.........and the ones who have changed their minds..........and the ones who can't travel to their designated offices............oh , and the ones that may have passed away during this process.......

Maybe they do need such long reserve lists afterall:rotfl:

I only applied for North London..So unless 44 candidates fall into the category above I'm in for a very, very long wait. Or do you think I should still hold out?? .. Did'nt think so:rotfl:

    H :)
  • Does anyone have any idea how they decide which locations to offer you other than the merit list position?

I only ask as we filled in the preferred location form ages ago (when there was all of the trouble with them bouncing etc) and then we filled in where we could work on the form before the interview as well.

Mine varied, due to my transport circumstances changing.

Do they actually use either of these "lists" we have provided them, or do they contact you in order on the merit list and say "do you want to work, here, or here, or here" depending on whats available. Or do they offer you closest available to your home postcode?

Ive heard all 3 are what happens from various sources, and im stressing myself out thinking that after all this they are going to go and offer me a place I physically cant get too.
  • Has anyone had an offer for west of scotland, and if so what score did they get in interview.

also what are the scores of people on reserve list for west of scotland.

    thanks

From past experience I believe they will ask you your preferred location. However, this will depend on if there are vacancies in the office you have selected.

Remember though at Band C level you are reasonably expected to travel up to 1.5 hrs.

Don't stress too much about it I'm sure you'll get an office that's not too far away from you :)

That's a really good question. The same thing happened to me, I was very surprised to be asked about preferred locations at interview when I had already submitted my form via email and I doubt the two lists ended up the same! However, just have to wait and see what happens I guess.
  • I was also called by resourcing regarding CRB, just goes to show they haven't actually sent them off yet.... Oh dear. I just want to hand my notice in, I am finding it so hard to stay motivated in a job I really am not enjoying...

    OK I have some questions.
*Lets say recruitment need to contact the top reserve off the list as they have received a rejected offer. How much time will they give that applicant to respond before they will move on to the next reserve off the list?

*Say a candidate who has had 1 offer and say 2 reserve places accepts their offer. Then some time down the line one of their reserve regions ( a preferred location) makes them an offer which they readily accept:T...........
Then, the other reserve region makes them an offer (even more desired location) which they also accept.

At what point will that lucky applicant feel it is time to reject 2 of the offers?
  • Hey Everyone

Ok on the next stage, I have been told they can not contact overseas references.

I then have to supply a personal reference which is in professional role to verify where I was and what I was doing.

Now can this reference be a friend who is a Corporate Solicitor.

Has anyone got any ideas on how best to cover my employ when overseas by Uk contact.

Thanks in advance for help and support:beer:

    Hi Muginawa

I would say a Solicitor falls within the 'professional role'

As to how best to cover your employer, I would speak with the recruitment line to find out exactly what they need in the ref.

Sorry I cannot help anymore. Someone else might have some thoughts :j
  • I got home earlier to find my house had been broken into. I've emailed Recruitment and they still haven't got back to me about what I should do! I need a crime number urgently but nothing. I tried calling them and they said they couldn't help :s I guess I'll try calling again tomorrow and over the weekend.
