I can realistically only work in Plymouth or Devonport, live in plymouth and dont really want to commute, i know i wouldn't mind for a while but it would soon get on my nerves, plus i have 2 kids and need to work round schools & childminders etc..
I really don't want to commute either I live in Torquay and have a little boy who has behaviour problems but for me it's too good of a job to turn down you only get one offer so if it's Plymouth I'm going to accept and see if I can transfer after a whileand with th flexi time it means if needed I would be able to leave a little earlier and make it up. I think it's defo worth considering commuting and seeing if you can transfer! Do you work at the min?

Yeah i am a civil servant in a different dept, with really good hours but as an AO, no-one else from my office got through that i know of, worked hard for this so wont turn anything down without thinking long & hard! I would definitely consider other areas but i'm not sure!!
Hope we both get what we want, i have spotted only one other person on this forum with Devon & Cornwall so you never know xx0 -

Hi sweetsara and toshme, you have the right attitude. Going from an AO to and EO is a big jump in wages and not to be snivelled at. Saying that, once you are in the job, there is more potential for transfer than landing the job in the ideal location itself. Something worth keeping in the back of the mind for later.0 -

Thanks Dragonchild. I have been an AO for 11yrs, first time i have gone for promotion tho due kids etc... Really looking forward to starting my new post & your right the potential to transfer is a lot easier than the promotion itself!!! just hoping there is enough positions in my area for everyone that got through.
Its been really tough & sooo stressful. All worth it in the end tho.
Congratulations to everyone that got offers x0 -
I have just been told my place on waiting list: 26th for Black Country but 52nd for Staffs & Shrop so lets c.
As an existing CS, I have not completed the "next step" link. Am I right in assuming this isn't needed as specified on their email. I have only sent an email acceptiong offer and have had no acknowledgement for the same.0 -

Umm, avo, I am not sure what you are talking about. If you got an actual provisional offer, then a 'next step' field will appear in the CS site under that region. But there should not be a 'next step' if you are on the waiting list.
I can only presume you have been offered one position and reserve list for two. Is this right? If it is, yes, fill in the next step field for the offer you have been given.0 -

Yes I have an offer from one region (B&S) and reserve on two (BC & Staffs & Shrop). My email says I would be prompted to complete next steps but as an existing CS I don't need to do this.0 -

Cool, gotcha now. I just got a bit confused. It has been a long day, week, month, quarter, year.0 -
