Hi MakemBill, that is a bit odd to me. I personally think that some areas are placing everyone on the waiting list initially for the purpose of completing the lists.
The reason for this is: I know for a fact I am in the top half of a merit list in an area with less positions than the other two. My score was 37. Mathematically this should, on probability and practicality (Bell curve) place me on at least the other two merit lists who have far greater positions available.
Your score of 40 would ensure you have an offer anywhere. I make this judgement on the various areas where people are getting offers with far lower scores where there are also lower positions available.
An interesting thing just happened to me also. After being told I was no longer in the running for East Anglia as they had reverted to sift, not interview, I just got a provisional offer for - yep, East Anglia.
Now I am really confused. Further more, the email states that I can accept the provisional offer for ALL areas I applied for and still in the running for. So the one shot deal that I was told is obviously out. Fair enough too, it is a long bow to expect people to choose a region over another without knowing what area they will be offered.
My further congratulations to everyone so far. Commiserations to those who did not make it, and good luck to those who have not heard anything yet.0 -
Well everyone, I was waiting for results in the north east and just got an email at 2.45pm today.
I scored 8,8,8,8,8 at the interview for my competencies and it seems even this wasn't good enough.

so its back to the drawing board for me, I really won't be holding my breath and being realistic about things (not negative) I really don't expect an offer in the near future and probably not ever!

hi i also got the same for Hampshire and iow. have u got preference list from jcp havant email as well???
Hi Krrrr, what was your score. I too got 37 and a reserve list message. I am beginning to think at this stage, some regions are placing everyone on that list prior to offers.
I was hoping for Winchester or Southampton in this region. I was also told there were 150 positions in Hamps/IOW at interview. Are there any updates on that number.0 -
I have also got an email. I was prompted to check after your post. I am genuinely gutted for you Charlie. Some people elsewhere in the country have been successful on less.
I scored 40 points.
I have NOT been offered a post.
I am on the reserve list.
I’m obviously pleased to have avoided the rejection list but I have said all along that the level of scores up north was very high. I would hope that with 40 points I’ll be quite high on the list of reserves.
Well done to all in NE who were successful.
Sorry to hear that, it's just the stats, i am sure you will get job offer soon. I am still shocked, 40 is possible highest score. In this case, i think it's not about scores it's about if they have any vacancies in the district, or may be they are sending out same email to everyone. Hopefully something good will come out of it. Wish you good luck. X0 -

As it was BS who scored and sifted me I stuck with them but also had to fill in a location pref form for BC. no mention of Staffs. I wonder when I will hear from BC [or staffs], if at all.
Was interviewed in BC. Locations done at interview for BC, no mention of other positions applied for, although the woman dealing with the paperwork had no idea at all what she was on about: didn't seem too aware of the application process at all.0 -
Don't give up Summerindurham. I am sure you will soon be moved to merit list with your score! You have done so well to get this far. I have a good feeling about it!0

I don't think BC have released their results yet. Fingers crossed for you! :A0 -

They decided where people would be posted last Thursday. So frustrating waiting when they know0 -
