Tabitha T, I was put on the reserve list on Thursday and by the end of yesterday I'd been moved to provisional offer. Really don't give up hope...

    Hi Charlie

I'm also waiting on N/T&W. Our area only interviewed quite high scoring tests and sift, so the results might also be quite high for a post. I'd have thought 34 would be close to the line but even if you only made it to reserve there's a good chance you'll be picked up sooner rather than later.

Remember everyone that while the reserve list is held for six months there's also a 6 month probationary period on all posts taken up.

The correlation there is not an accident. If you don't cut it in the job, there are keen people waiting in the wings.

You recently attended a selection event for a position in Department of Work and Pensions.

We are sorry to inform you that you have been unsuccessful at this stage.

We know this will be disappointing news but would like to thank you for the interest you have shown in these posts and wish you every success in your future career.

I am completely and utterly gutted. I can't believe after all this time, and after releasing a load of "unsuccesful" results to people in the same area on Wednesday (making me think I had a chance), I've got nowhere.

Has anyone heard from Kent at all?

Nothing from Kent yet. I interviewed on 7th March and not heard a sausage since.

Sorry to hear this Charlie, I know you said you scored 34 in total but did you get a 3 in any of the competencies? :(

I have also got an email. I was prompted to check after your post. I am genuinely gutted for you Charlie. Some people elsewhere in the country have been successful on less.

    I scored 40 points.

I have NOT been offered a post.

I am on the reserve list.

I’m obviously pleased to have avoided the rejection list but I have said all along that the level of scores up north was very high. I would hope that with 40 points I’ll be quite high on the list of reserves.

Well done to all in NE who were successful.

I was thinking to go for part time too.

Good luck with that!! Just a word of warning I work for DWP got a job 3 years ago and even though they write that applications for part time will be considered its almost impossible to get. Probably depends on location but where I am its a nightmare.
