  • I came across this forum by chance and glad I did, I went for an interview for west of Scotland and my scores were 7.4.5.4.7 a total of 27, I recieved an e-mail on Saturday to say that I was on the waiting list and felt good, then reading other peoples scores this makes me think I have no chance. :o

Argh, haven't been here in ages, but all this talk of e-mails over a bank holiday weekend, HAD to go and check.... nothing, of course :(

Usually everyone gets a reserve list e-mail prior to an offer. Dunno why, they just seem to do it that way.

Concerned now that my 35 may not be enough....

Well done to all that passed :D

I was def told that ALL results [unsuccessful/waiting list/merit list] would be communicated by letter first.
Bit confused to hear that some people are finding out via email???

    Hi Redsky

I had an email from the recruitment team last week following a request for update and it was identical to one posted on here a few days ago. They said in that email that the notification would be sent out by email to the communications portal where other notifications (ie inivite to interview etc) had been posted.

This flies in the face of what I was told at interview, although I must say my interviewers based their answer on past experience and this is the first time that this system has been used like this.

If no one has yet been put on the merit list then potentially they could be telling ALL successful candidates (i.e. those who havent failed) they are on the reserve list and will come back with offers when they know how many they need. Has even known.

In previous recruitment drives in my department we have used reserve lists due to the fact that we could only train 12 people at a time. In my application process I was put on a six month reserve list but then received a call two weeks later giving me a start date.

That said, it may be that some people on the reserve list will never make it to the top of it. It's another waiting game for us all.

Whichever way they are going to tell us I just hope they hurry up about it! My current employer is not happy that I haven't been given an answer yet - they want to plan their staffing for this new tax year [which is understandable] and need to know if I'll be leaving them or not.
Re: offers, I would think that it's not only the scores which secure a job but also the offices people have chosen. When I went to interview one lady said she could only travel to one specific office which I guess limits her chances? ;)

Must admit that I am very worried about my scores of 77765 not feeling confident that I will make it on the merit list at all especially with some of the scores posted on this thread.
I have limited myself to just one district i'm just hoping that it will be enough...Does anyone know?

this is a open forum and people can post any score they feel like ! I think yours are good and you should rightly feel they are good enough to get a job offer.
Also this forum might attract people who are very keen on the role and therefore score higher than the Av. Having said that I suspect as from a previous contact I haev in the CS that the overall scores have been good.

Mosch, we are all getting fed up with waiting! It's torture but with your scores you should be on the merit list ... Not long now I think by the end of this week/beginning next the waiting will be over !! :T

    Holly,

    It's a pity Optimism wasn't a competency. I think you'd score 9 in a breath :)
