They're def not all over as a poster said that they've been offered an interview next week by Thames Valley as that region messed up their selection process so are having to invite other people for interview. So we should add another week onto our expected 'putting us out of our misery' date.

I got this email on Sunday at 9am... Didint even know they were open on a Sunday either.....

There are interviews still taking place, therefore no results will be issued until all the interviews are finished.

No start dates have been discussed.

    regards

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I was interviewed for the position of Executive Officer for the DWP in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire area on the 2nd March and was advised at the interview that we'd be likely to hear back within 2/3weeks.

I have noted my interview feedback on the CS website although I have yet to hear about the final outcome. Can you confirm when the likely date to hear about success of the post will be? As in my interview I was told it would be likely to be an early April start date?

    Many thanks

So, yip, sounds like there is alot more waiting ahead.......Awwwwwwww man :(

How mad does it make me then? I check this forum most days for news & I haven't even applied for a job there!:rotfl:

I found about about the jobs on the closing day, & it did cross my mind to apply - I'm disabled & jumping through lots of hoops with JC+ about finding work, so thought that when they turned my application down it would make for an interesting discussion with my "advisor" :D but I decided not to apply as I realised there would be far more capable people than me applying.

I feel for all of you that are going through this process - what an ordeal. FWIW - from most of the posts I've seen on here most of you will be far better advisors than the majority of those I've spoken to & I hope you are all successful.

Thanks gardenia, wish you good luck for the job hunt, many of us will join in this job hunt soon after this oreal is done and dusted.
I am sure DWP is pretty good employing disable candidate, In 2009 practice they appointed my friend ,she had barely passed the competency tests and while they did not extend many of FTA contracts, her contract was not only extended but she is made permanet without any further test or interview, just before this external excercise.
    Nothing to loose, honestly.
In this grim economy ,private companies are not hiring anyone who is less capable than the director of the company and only hope is public sector. But hopefully things will get better soon , economy will pick up again in 2015 and this job hunt will be as easy as it was in 2007. Sorry for ranting...yes there is no news but still hope.

I keep checking the site too to check for any updates and news from other candidates about the process.

I received an email this morning from North Scotland DWP district office manager office saying they couldn't access my working pattern and locations form and could I return it by the 9th of April.

I am taking this as a positive sign that by that date they will have their list ready and that communications should start with offering posts..(Positive thinking) or maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up too much.

Its been a long process and I hope we all hear good news soon.

Thank you for the good wishes thunderplex and JessStar - if only they'd worked!

I thought the interview had gone quite well and the questions were straightforward but, even though I used the examples I used in my application - and had expanded on them, the interviewers obviously had other ideas and I scored worse.

I'm now out of the running and I wonder if I'll ever get another job.

Sorry to hear that. As for wondering if you will ever get another job, till last week I felt exactly the same. Been for loads of interviews in the last 6 months, and missed out on them all. Then on Friday I got offered an 8 week temp position. Not much I know, but it has got me out of teh rut, and back into the real world again. I'm sure you will get something soon, you just have to keep trying.

As for the DWP job, unless you recieve a refusal letter, you just never know. It may just happen.

I have applied for a EO position for another government department via the Civil Service website, and it has been so much more organised and quicker than the DWP process!

I didnt apply for the DWP but my partner did and had her interview back in mid March. She was told she would hear by the following week, yet weeks on and still nothing.

I have made the interview stage for the department which I have applied for and have my interview in a couple of weeks time - im sooooo nervous!!!!!

Hello - I to got the locations/work prefs from North Scotland.
Bad news for me as I got 35, was from a friend who I still have from Previously working within DWP and Scotish Executive (I was a SEO before VES). The person is a G7 within HR and she says ' overall the comp scores were marked very high most people being interviewed passing the board. (good news I supose) but since the scores were so high, she expected the people with scores 38/40 to be in a good position to be offered roles. Others to be on a waiting list for 6 months with little realistic chance !!!

Oh so it's pretty bad news I guess. I had location form last week but it clearly said its paperwork that was required even before interview so I shoul not make hopefull association. I got only 28/45 and am bit hopeful in east scotland not many people secured higher marks and only 30% passed interview. Hey, but west Scotland can commute to east Scotland, I only hope that not many people also applied to east Scotland as well. Otherwise, my chance of getting this job will become slimmer to none. Well, time will reveal. Until then it's not over .

There's a lot of hearsay being banded about by people, not malicious, just people jumping the gun trying to help us. I'd say clear your mind and just knuckle down for the last big wait. I'm optimistic so I believe we could start to hear from next tuesday, though I admit the following week is more likely. Either way we'll soon know.

In a strange way I'm glad I got such dismal scores at interview because at least I know there isn't a job for me.

I'd have hated to have got a decent score and have to carry on waiting after all the waiting I've done for the last 3 months (been applying for other jobs too)

Good luck to those of you who were successful at interview.
