Just found out from the recruitment Line that if you did not get a call by last friday ie 30th then you will not be offered a job and get a email this week to say so !! Hope anyone who applied on here has been sucessful, not that I haveLooking forward NOT to getting the email next week. This was after 3 weeks from the interview assesment at Sheffield . Thought I had done ok but hay ho not ! What I find is that this department managed to get through a national recruitment campaign fast and effeciently !
Applyed for DWP job before and had interview in manchester about the same time , ( my results not great at 35 in total so not very positive) but the waiting is eating me away ... As a previous post feel slightly more postive when people post lower scores and more negative when post higher scores !! Been unemployed for over 6 months now with a MRs and 3 year old to support !!!
Wonder did anyone apply for the EA jobs as well as similar salary
is this region/area specific or is it across the whole recruitment campaign across the country?? i also got 35 and will be well gutted if i dont get this, please confirm mate0 -
This is for the environment officer national recruitment . I applied for this as well as EO at DWP ... Same grade I think but just found out I have not got that job , not convinced that 35 points which I have for the DWP EO will be enough either .. sorry if paniced you... Just wondering if anyone else on here did both and why DWP cant be as quick0

lol bloody hell wizzywassy!!! i can calmed down now then! bad news mate on the other one. does make you think though if 35 aint enough for that it might not be enought for this. suppose well just av to wait and see. it is taking soooo long tho aint it. i applied in jan! i mean, do you really need a recruitment process that takes 3 - 6 months! its not like its even a proper full on management roll or anything. roll on april!0 -

So goodbye and good luck to everyone in the forum. It has been fun and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I shall still be looking at the forum just to see how you lot get on and really hope that all of you are successful in your pursuits.
Many congratulations on your success and best wishes for your new job.
This may be a lesson to many people on this forum. Do not get hung up on these EO jobs. Keep looking for something else, unless you're applying from the strong position of being in employment currently. Thos unfortunate enough to be JCP customers, use the positive feedback to your advantage when applying for other obs. Use the competencies set out by DWP as they are all transferable skills. if you can justify your experience in DWP sift/interview, then you can do so in any other job application.
You could be in a stronger position just by going through this process.

Before we get any more postings about the post above. it's for: Environment Officer Rejection0 -
I read in a previous post that DWP staff on the helpline are complaining about the volume of calls they are receiving on what they say is a technical helpline and not an information line.
I would respectfully suggest that DWP are the architects of their own problem.
I remember when the closing date for the applications process was due, they emailed all applicants and told them that as they were receiving reports of technical problems with the online test etc, they were giving an additional 24 hours before closing for applications.
As they obviously thought issuing an “all applicants” email would relieve some of the workload that the technical helpline was then suffering, why don’t they issue an email to everyone now, apologising (or not if they feel they’ve acted with professionalism and integrity and within their own planned timescales), explaining that they do not propose to issue responses to applicants, post interview, until a future given date.
This would stop a lot of people pestering the call centre staff who feel aggrieved at being asked the same questions time and again.
It would also stop of the nail chewing that posters on here may well be inflicting upon themselves.
Here endeth this Sunday’s Sermon.
Ps…given today's date, I’m surprised some DWP wag hasn’t issued an email saying it was all a joke and there really are no jobs0 -
Pay awards yes, but not progressions, there have been no progressions since 2008. You're supposed to be given both each year
The subject was discussed recently in the online staff forum "have your say" and comments from longterm existing staff were that they would be loathe to see newer recruits being given progressions because and I quote.......
"It has taken me 20 years to reach the top of the pay band and it would be unfair to see the new staff going up increments every year"
Even though the contract state it will be done, and it is standard practice that where there are bands there are annual increments within those bands.
That's pretty bad. Where I work you only move up an increment level if there's a pay award, end of. I have queried this to the nth degree and apparently that's the final answer, maybe they've decided to adopt this approach in the dwp!
Have you been given a reason for the non-progression if it's contractual?0 -
Hi. I'm new here - I got so frustrated with the waiting game that I did a google search to see if anyone else had heard. Hopefully this forum will be the first place to know when people start to receive job offer.
Does anyone have any idea which scores are taken into account when deciding on who to offer a position to ? ( online test, competencies, interview...).
I really hope they get back to us soon!0
