My online score was bad 55565 and 83%. do they count them as well? i don't stand any chance then. oh please wish me luck. i worked for the department and was awarded with many complements and M&S vouchers for making may positive contributions. had documentry proof of thoes achievements but they didn't bother looking at them. I actually scored 98999 for the same competencies while i was on FTA contract and that was purely based on my actual performance throughout the year. I was the only staff out of 11 in our office that was offered extention because of my commitment dedication and drive. just feel like burning thoes complementery letter and awards. they gave me 4 on customer service competency but that was my strongest point. my entire career is customer service based.n e way just need a job. wish you all good luck.
The scores from the written application and sift test were just used to whittle down the numbers to invite to interview. Just your interview scores count towards the possibility of being offered a job.
I only asked to see whether scores in interview tended to be higher or lower than those awarded for the application as I'm getting very nervous now! Incidentally, your application competency scores were identical to mine so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I do as well as you at interview!0 -
Thanks for your re-assuring post, you're right I'm still in with a chance so I guess I should be grateful for that.
Cheers

So i got my scores - 40/45, but i havnt provided them with a passport sized photo of myself, as was requested of me. i took my passport and driving licence but was told that this was insufficient as the admin lady couldnt match any of the two photos with my face (very frustrating, as you can imagine). she asked me to bring in a photo the next day but i didnt bother as i thought i had flunked my interview. having now received a decent score im worried that if i am considered for the post this may jeopardise my chances. the interviews in e. london are now over so what am i to do? any advice would be appreciated...
on another note, how has everybody in e. london been getting on? anyone get higher than 40? (not being disingenuous, just curious). btw poker 21 you've been a credit to this forum (amongst others, of course), really hope you get the job!

OMG - everyone still waiting then?
Must be so frustrating for all of you....
I pulled out of the interview as got a job offer somewhere else (NHS), been in my new job 3 weeks now.. and applied for it way after my DWP application...
If they can not get their own recruitment right - how on earth can they help anyone else into a job?
Good luck to everyone still waiting...0 -
Haven't even had my interview yet gettingready.
Hope you're enjoying your job with the NHS.0 -
You won't end up on more. The DWP lies to it's staff about their annual progression through the bands..... The truth of the matter is, if you start at the bottom of the banding, you will stay at the bottom of the banding for many years before you even get one increment up the banding. And let's assume there is about 8 increments on each band, it could take you 20 - 30 years before you reach the top of the band. Compare that to most other banded jobs where it would take about 5 - 6 years to get to the top of the band.
I have been at the bottom of my band for 3 years now with no progression what-so-ever up the band. Despite it being written in the contract that the DWP has an annual progression up the band.
Oh and another thing..... When they offer you over time at time and half or double time don't expect to get time and half or double time........... what you will actually get is approximately x1.4 and x1.8 respectively
This can be the case, but it can depend really on the timing. When I joined the CS I was lucky that within a year or two the pay deal was agreed so I went up a spine point every year for about three or four years. I was expecting it to be like the Army for instance, where you increment automatically each year. In the current climate I think I'd be lucky to move up a point at all in the next five years at least
People, don't just ignore epitomes post out of hand; it can be notoriously difficult to move up pay spines in the Civil Service - it comes down to pay awards, not natural performance and progression. It's worth bearing in mind if you've got a decision to make. The best advice would be to seek out (if possible) people in the job and ask if they have progressed at all.
I'm not sure if this interests anyone but here's a comparison over 10 years of the EO pay scales (non London)
2002 Nat
Min £15,220
Max £20,880
2012
Minimum £21,320
Maximum £24,230
Again for anyone interested, according to PCS it would appear there were pay awards/offers in 2003, 2004 to 2006, 2007-2009 and 2010 (only for those under £21k)
source (that details the % increases) http://www.pcs.org.uk/en/department_for_work_and_pensions_group/reference_library/pay-agreements_or_offers/index.cfm0 -

Hi Folks
Just found out from the recruitment Line that if you did not get a call by last friday ie 30th then you will not be offered a job and get a email this week to say so !! Hope anyone who applied on here has been sucessful, not that I haveLooking forward NOT to getting the email next week. This was after 3 weeks from the interview assesment at Sheffield . Thought I had done ok but hay ho not ! What I find is that this department managed to get through a national recruitment campaign fast and effeciently !
Applyed for DWP job before and had interview in manchester about the same time , ( my results not great at 35 in total so not very positive) but the waiting is eating me away ... As a previous post feel slightly more postive when people post lower scores and more negative when post higher scores !! Been unemployed for over 6 months now with a MRs and 3 year old to support !!!
Wonder did anyone apply for the EA jobs as well as similar salary0 -
