qwertyuio I am unclear from your e-mail if your interview was for the Saturday just gone - yesterday - or for next Saturday? If it was yesterday the re-schedule button will have gone - and if all slots had been taken it may have already gone anyway. The best thing you can do is call the recruitment line tomorrow and explain the issue and hope they can set up another interview.

I'm also struggling to see any 're-schedule' link on the CS site, can anyone help please? My interview is on Tuesday but I would like to change it if possible??

One of the main reasons for getting people to address competencies based largely on leadership is because at this rank, i.e. EO, C Band or O Band depending on your department, you may be reasonably expected to manage a team. While these jobs are for Youth Contract advisors people who fill them may later be moved sideways into other roles where there will be no need to carry out selection and interviews.

Also it means that they will be able to recruit a generally higher calibre of candidate which in turn helps meet the department's business capability.

    Here endeth the lesson J

My guess is all available slots have been allocated so it is not possible to change your date now. It was there as I changed my interview date/time 3 times but that was on the day I received the original interview request so many slots were open. It was on the main application stauts page under all the links to the documents. It is no longer there now for me so I guess all slots have been taken or they have 'frozen' the interviews allocated.

The reschedule link is on the main page you go to after logging into the civil service job site. The page where down the left hand side you can view communications, withdraw etc. The link is on the bottom of the main text at the end of other links likes CRB Forms etc.

That said, the link will only be visible if there are alternate slots to book into. If all slots are taken their will be no opportunity to rebook. If you miss an appointment, you will likely not be able to reschedule as there are only as many slots as there are interviews to be carried out. This is to ensure that people doing the interview are only in the location when they need to be interviewing, thus saving the department’s resources.

Must be Sunday…another sermon. Sorry guys !!

I could be wrong, but I think the re-schedule option is removed when all the other slots have been filled. I presume the only option is to call the Recruitment Line and see if they can help.

    Good luck with your interview.

Well looks like I'm out the running. After querying why I was getting the runaround and not getting sift scores Birmingham changed my scores from 5 x 1 to 42211 even though I withdrew from that area weeks ago. The same day 7 out of 8 in our office were told thanks but no thanks for the Black Country. I had been told neither of these were my home district which I have pointed out to them and promised a reply the same day. Still waiting. Nothing from the other 2 areas I applied for. Anyway good luck to everyone I will be checking how you are all doing. Good luck I'm sure you will all do well. For me it's been a nightmare but at least I can put it to bed now.

I'm sorry to hear this - you have been well and truely screwed around on this recruitment drive. Good luck to you going forwards.
  • do you guys think its ok for me to complete the interview forms on computer then just sign and date them. or do you think it better to do it all on paper. thanks

I don't see anything wrong with that - as long as you have signed and dated them.
