DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Hello,
I applied for this job in the Hampshire/IOW and Sussex and Surrey regions, and interviewed on Monday 5th March in Havant. (Just once I might add! No maths test either...) Annoyingly I've only just come across this thread, and have read through all 191 pages, gutted that I didn't find this before my application/test/interview etc!
I have a couple of questions I hope someone will be able to answer for me - currently I have my online test and interview feedback (68 percentile and 8,7,8,8,7) but I do not have any sift feedback - for either application - is that right?
Also, could someone give me an idea of an EO's day to day role? I was shocked when I read earlier in this thread that it is an advisory role, give that all the information I received (and such the potted employment history/competency detail I gave) was (people) management focussed. This isn't a problem I hasten to add! Just hope I haven't pitched myself the wrong way...
Lastly, does anyone have any idea of the actual anticipated starting date for those lucky enough to be selected?
Apologies if in my late-night/morning read I've missed answers to these questions provided before.
Many Thanks
Steph
The districts you applied for did not operate a sift but interviewed candidates over a certain pass mark for the on line test so you will not get feedback for on line competencies.
Your interview feedback looks good enough to secure a post and you should hear within a couple of weeks of interviews finishing.
All those candidates who have not scored below a 3 are ranked and job offers start being made from the top.
Having received a job offer you then have the laborious process of waiting for security clearance before you can start so start date is an unknown.
The jobs will mostly be for advisers as that is the reason for recruitment, money has been given to fund the Youth Agenda but offices will likely use experienced advisers for this as results will be scrutinised and there will be high expectations so most new recruits will probably go into main stream adviser work.
There are some supervisory roles but far less of these in JCP than in other areas.0 -
Thank you very much Karins, your post is so helpful. Do you know how I find out which location I might work at? (Again if I am successful!) Also, whether I would have the option to request a specific location etc? Thanks again0

Im a great believes of innocent until proven guilty. Whether you did, or, didn't have a test or whether you lied or told the truth about it, really has no effect to anyone on the site.
Wanda, ignore everyone that offends you and good luck with the interview results.
In a job like this we may come across 'liars' but we will also come across people that have experienced something different to normal. Unless we have hard evidence to prove Wanda didn't experience this, I choose to carry on with my life as normal and continue reading posts from people who want to support, not accuse and ridicule others.
Lets all stop arguing about petty little things and focus on getting better jobs and supporting each other.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
Let's just say that it's not just Wanda's name that is fishy. I knew from her very first post that there was something not quite right. She either is here to wind people up or she is just a liar. I do think she has applied like everyone else but I dont believe her comp scores for a minute. However, if they are her scores then brilliant but any normal, sensitive, supportive person, wouldn't come on and brag the way she has done. Ive met plenty people like this in my life and believe you me, whether they mean to or not, they **** people off left right and centre. She would not last 2 minutes in this type of customer facing job. Then after a bad interview, she has decided to come on here and add in a few more lies to put people off track. All very childish.
But anyway, yes, lets just get on with the matter in hand. Lots of great advice on here (esp Karins and Camelot) , it's been a fab help0 -

most of the jobs will be as advisers prob 18 - 24 year olds. I think that may be where those of us that work there went wrong. Knowing it was adviser work and knowing the job we geared the comps to that. Although it's EO grade you don't have to manage staff whereas the comps in the vacancy were more geared to line managing who manage a team of AO's. I know I wrote mine as if I was an adviser because that is definitly what most of the jobs will be. I think it would have probably been better not knowing about the job at all and just going from the vacancy as it was a bit misleading for us insiders which is probably why a lot of us havent done so well.0 -

Once they have decided how many posts they are going to fill they will start phoning people to discuss locations, obviously the higher up the list you are the greater the choice.0 -

I can't say that it’s right, but I filled all my forms in on the PC and just signed them. However, when I went to hand them in they didn't want them. All they took was my passport to photocopy and my photograph to pin to the interviewers note page.
This is because I am a serving Civil Servant from another government department. I just wished they'd made that clear before I went searching for pension info and past payslips etc.
Back to your question, if the Civil Service require a form to completed by hand they direct you to fill it in with black ink, to facilitate photocopying. They didn't ask in this case so I imagine it's just fine.
