    Hi Lorac

I think Shrops473 meant that they were only asked one question about their 5 comps? I read it that way the first time but after a second look I think that's what they mean!

Although 22 mins is pretty quick for all 5 but maybe, as they say, they covered everything they needed to. I had a similar experience in that I was only asked one question about the first of my comps then no questions about the other 4. But my interview took 45 mins!!

Then again, I do talk an awful lot........

    Ref Glasgow feedback:
Helpline confirmed interviews have ended(knew that anyway) and that they have no responsibility for uploading feedback, that’s down to the interview panel. He advised that there is no set timescaleand couldn’t confirm it would be available by Wednesday (my 10 working daydeadline) ‘they’ll be up when they’re up’ was his comment. He is flagging upwith his team leader to ensure that it’s not been over looked……..#stillwaiting

In all, I'm happy with my completely new competencies, and turned it back on them by stating, "I stand by my previous competencies and we can take them as read to support and supplement my answers here today if necessary" :) I know it's wordy, but as i referred to the original competencies myself in passing, they had read them, and hopefully will count towards the interview score - if not, I'm still happy.

Can I ask why you changed your competencies? I am considering changing 3 of mine which used previous DWP experience. :)

Thanks for that information :) I am awaiting feedback for Glasgow/Lanarkshire area too. According to the interview guidelines it said it was to be 10 working days, but I guess every area seems to be singing from their own hymn sheets.haha!

    Ah well, the waiting continues............
  • Hi,

Are we definitely allowed to take notes in with us to the interview.

Also, if I am asked a question about building capability and I make reference in my answer to using financial budgets and monitoring finance, will the interviewer mark down that I have covered this point even though its a subheading under the Managing people and resource competency.

    Hi

Baph, i have my interview this saturday. Would you mind telling me if it would be an issue using the same competencies as the application form? seeing as they already have them at hand. Or would new ones be required?

thanks, and hope yours went well

    'lo,

Yes DEFINITELY, take concise notes though. Each example you give can't be crossed-over afaik. If you check what the interviewers are writing (I wouldn't advise that as it is distracting but I did that anyway...), you'll see that they have a page for each competency and will only write points from the example you give for that competency. They'll tell you which one they're talking about.
    Hi

Baph, i have my interview for North London this saturday. Would you mind telling me if it would be an issue using the same competencies as the application form? seeing as they already have them at hand. Or would new ones be required?

They will check it over but you can use whatever competency you want at the interview. In my interview, the interviewer even pointed out that I used a totally different competency but I explained that the example I was using helped me to answer their question better and that was okay.
  • many thanks TsimehC
think ill 'gamble' on my same competencies...afraid i might muddle them up if i try and remember others!
  • apologies fif this has already been answered for another user.

for my delivering a customer focused service example, when questioned on it, it will either be name a time when you provided an excellent customer service or name a time you responded to a customers needs. this i understand. But in my answer should i cover the points under providing an excellent customer service and also cover the points under responding to a customers needs sub headings

Thanks for all the feedback guys!!! It has been very helpful. Also, congrats to all the guys scoring well in the interview. All the best to the guys who have their interviews this week and next.

Has anyone been interviewed in Birmingham yet? If yes, could you please let me know whether you were questioned on the main headings of the competencies or on the sub headings. Some of the guys have said they were asked from the main headings while others have been asked from subs. It seems to be dependent on the area. For me, this could be make or break as even though my competencies hit the main headings, they do not hit some of the sub headings so if I was asked from sub heading, I would struggle. I have thought of some extra examples for sub headings however I am finding it hard to even think of examples for some sub headings as I have not done that sort of role, don't want to make anything up but stick to what I've done. p.s. I am not asking for specific questions just whether people in Birmingham were asked from main or sub. I know a lot fo people spoke earlier about being against sharing questions, I understand & respect this.

Thanks in anticipation for any help.
