good luck to you x
I can't remember the exact questions as i was a bundle of nerves and came out of the interview and completely forgot most of what i got asked!
Under professional service I got asked something about how I would deliver a professional service under difficult circumstances. I also got asked how I motivate and inspire people and something about utilising resources.
The rest is a bit of blur!0 -
Just spoke to a lovely chap on the RL re: Black Country.
There is a 'known delay' with some people getting scores - interviews are due to be held (subj to change) 12th-16th March. Should be notified by end of this week, start of next.
Re: differing interview criteria in home region compared to others applied for - 'contingency' plans are in place, so should my scores not have met the mark for BC, they would then readdress B&S (where I KNOW I met the criteria) and do a 2nd round of interviews... so it may well be a while before any actual offers are made.0 -
Im confused so you mean if you failed in your home area but passed in another area, you would get an interview in the other area??
That's what he said, yep
As you applied individually for the jobs, you should be assessed individually for the jobs.
I'll believe it when I see it, if I'm honest.0 -

That is in direct contrast to EVERYTHING the recruitment line have told me on the numerous occasions I've phoned them.
Still fuming at the huge discrepancy in scores if I'm honest.0 -

It just gets better doesn't it? The fact that they had nothing in place re who marked the comps originally means that there are many people who may have been failed in one area but passed in another. There could well be much 're-addressing' going on which will further delay when job offers/merit lists are set up. It would have made more sense to have one central area mark the comps and then set up interviews in the are closest to your post code if your comps were marked high enough. At that point the forms for where you wanted to work should have been sent out. Perfect - no - but probably a lot more logical than what is going on at the moment.0 -

Unreal!! How about all those people who have been scored '1' in other areas, with 'refer to home area' as feedback? Will all those be re-scored as well (although that is indeed what happened to one lucky lady the other day...)? :huh:0 -
Tis crazy, I agree.
But at least some form of glimmer of hope for folks who's scores were zeroed but were kicked out of their home region early on.
Or, complete bulls**t designed to get me off the phone quick...0 -

I suspect that was the original plan - assess your application in each area you applied. However the CS seems to have badly underestimated how many people would apply and apply to more than one area. After a few weeks of trying to deal with the huge number of apps they then came up with the idea of having your 'home' area assess you. However many people had already received scores from areas other than their 'home' one and there then seemed to be no defined method of dealing with that. In some cases the 'home' area took scores from another area, in some cases they scored you and as we have been seen there were then severe discrepencies in some of those scores. There has been no consistency at all.
This entire procedure has been a comedy of errors from word go and I'm sure there are many complaints heading towards the CS due to the sheer farcical nature of this entire process.0 -

I would agree there are flaws in the process for those applying for several areas but for most applicants applying for just one area they will have been measured fairly against the other applicants in that area by either on line scores or competency scores.
My district chose not to sift due to the immense resource you need to do this - quicker to go straight to interview and interview a few more.
We are interviewing in 5 different sites and have varying numbers of panels running hourly depending on availability to staff them so you might have 3 at 9.00 in one site on Monday but only one on Tuesday -just depends nothing devious just the way it is.
Interviews are spaced hourly to allow panel to score before next candidate and paperwork will then go to admin who put scores on. Candidates will not know where they are on the list until all interviews are finished but if you get a 3 you will be out.
Finally those people giving out the questions should be aware that each district gets given the set of questions they have to use for all the interviews and everyone will be asked the same so if people know which area you were interviewed for you are giving them an advantage - up to you but you should be aware.0
