  • hi guys & gals,

anybody got any views on whether you should take notes into the interview or not? I know a few ppl on here have said the interviewers don't mind it you do etc (do they really?) but I'm really not sure on this one as don't want to look unprofessional in interview as I have never used notes before but I would really like to this time. I'm in a real knot about it AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH...

I'm in COMPLETELY the same situation as you are.

    Me too !!

They should be told to re-open the application process but this time round with the same evaluation criteria being applied consistently to all districts.
It's become something of a postcode lottery.
Had I known then I would also have preferred to apply to a district that was ignoring the competency statements because they couldn't get their act together.

If I was going for one of their interviews  I would definitely take along some short notes as an aide-memoire.
They are so focussed on using competencies as an assessment
that it's not worth trying to memorise all that jargon and risk messing it up.
Somewhere in the bumph you are almost encouraged to take along notes to the interview.

  • Well after disappointing scores (7,7,7,2,2) in my home region (Essex) and an email saying my application wont be taken any further.......i get an email yesterday out the blue for my East London application saying i have passed the 1st stage and requested for interview.??

So, booked in for the 16th March, strange thing being i am being interviewed at the JCP office i worked at on my EO fixed term contract 18 mths ago.

It really is strange how this process is not straight forward and as easy as it was when i applied etc for my FTA!!

I'm waiting on news for the north of Scotland, just off the phone...AGAIN

my comps had all been scored with a 1 and no comments or feedback, the chap on the phone has assured me he's passed it on to his team leader and it will be looked at. He also said they didn't have any scores in yet at all for the North of Scotland but they were intending on starting the interviews the week after next.
