Also realised this today and was told that they were gunna be 10 -12 weeks until they can sort out their systems. I have requested that they refund the £600 I paid them and they said they would do this within 21 days but am going to try and ring again tomorow and email them to do it within 24 hours.
Got one parcel back from them today that had to be RTS and it was posted at the post office using standard parcels at £7.85 there are much cheaper couriers they could of used so all seems a bit strange to me. A delivery network paying another full price to deliver
Back to hermes for me I spose0 -
thats exactly what we said, offering next day for £1 was a mistake, but to be fair , the biggest problem PPE had was the PDA's not working AT ALL,
Really enjoyed the work and the people in charge were nice to work for (or so I thought)
but when I tried to gain entry today I had to be told they were closing down by a security guard at the main gate.
I googled PPE and saw this thread in the results and just wanted expaypounder and others like him to know what had happened to us today as like me he is out of pocket and I wanted to share the nly way of contacting them that I could find and I was an employee0 -

Oh my! Why would you pay them such sums of money in the first place?! I think you may need to wave bye bye to this tbh.0 -
Paid it as the annual collection fee which they later credited to me on account. Am in the process of claming it back through the credit card company now. Should get it back somehow. If not then would say that after taking the diffrence in delivery and everything into account its prob gunna be a £500 loss, but hopefully not0

If this was a business transaction, I wouldn't hold out too much hope of that coming to a satisfactory end.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Problem is Section 75 is covered under the 'Consumer Credit Act 1974', might be worth pulling the CC companies terms out to see if you're covered. You may have a valid chargeback claim, but if there is no money in their merchant account they CC company will be unable to recover the money.
Maybe mentally prepare for the worst0 -

But, is that the contingency for chargebacks? Surely, if the issuer's terms and conditions state that they will give a chargeback in these circumstances, it would have to happen, regardless of the condition of the merchant's account. Or is it a standard term? I don't know enough about chargebacks to be sure. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

I can't be 100% sure either, so could stand to be corrected, but.... the whole point of a chargeback is that your card issuer attempts to recover the money from the retailer on your behalf, via the retailers merchant account. On the few occasions i've asked for a chargeback i've been told they will temporarily refund you the money whilst the chargeback process is progress. If it my understanding that even if the claim is approved by the merchant bank, if they are unable to recover the funds on your behalf then it's down to the consumer to pursue the retailer via other means.0 -
It was on a standard credit card so should be okay hopefully.
I've been promised the money by next week so will give themtill then as I understand there is no time limit on claming through the card. Not sure how there gunna cope with everyone wanting there money back and drivers that need paying.0 -

That might not cut it, if they realise it was a business to business transaction; but you stand a better chance if it is on a personal card. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
