I did think of that, but when they have just 80p left from the arcel (based on the 20p paid to collection drivers the other poster stated) I can't see them finding another company willing to take it on nor can I imagine they'd be so keen on making a loss per parcel. Could be wrong though.

They will probably trade at a loss for the first year, to build their customer and driver base.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

im sure these problems confronted easyjet but love them or hate them they are a highly successful business making profit. and hopefully so will paypound.
Easyjet did actually start out by being able to fulfill their business ie being able to fly passengers from destination a to destination b.

You could compare this company to Easyjet if Easyjet had started their business with no jets and waited for enough passengers to pay money so they could cover the costs of chartering one.

Easyjet also started with a good business plan and a fair amount of capital from a man with a good track record, sadly on any of those this company is failing.

For the drivers it may not be a bad deal, I just hope you can get paid, I'd be worried about trusting this long term.

As a regular sender of parcels of all sizes, whilst price is obviously an issue, so is a guarantee of delivery and a good booking/collection process.

As I mentioned in an earlier post a service that took parcels up to 25-30kg and offered a 1-2 day guaranteed service for £3-£4 would get my business and many others at my level of turnover.

For a 100g packet Royal Mail charge more than £1, their lowest packet rate, that should really tell you something about this company's business model.

to be fair.RM shouldn't be the comparison. more the Yodels and the like. It just seems to me too cheap and a poor start. they could kill their own business off failing collections/deliveries from the off. Amazon traded at a loss from the start. however that only affected the price the customer paid.

What exactly should it tell us? That they deliver packets cheaper than any other company on a service that includes next day delivery to any address in the UK.

Except they are apparently struggling to do either with any consistency ;)

That a company with the infrastructure of RM don't see sending a parcel for £1 as a viable option.

As for the rest of your statement from all I've seen they offer to deliver packets cheaper than anyone else, there isn't much evidence of it actually happening. They are proving that they can't do what they say and as I pointed out it is foolish to offer.

I wouldn't trust them to deliver to remote parts of the UK for £1 when it will cost the driver more to get there than he will get back for delivering it, with no insurance how can the sender trust they won't just put the parcel in the nearest wheelie bin, as Yodel were pretty much doing before Christmas.

paypound express is a dcourier service that charge £1 + VAT
all seems too good to be true, but they have their registration and vat details on their webpage so checked with companies house and yes it is registered,
ive booked my first collection at 7AM for todays collection between 2.30 and 4.30, cut off for same day collection is 4.30pm
they have failed to collect

Has any one here had dealings with this company or know of it, id hate to be scammed for trying to find a cheaper alternative.

    Any help ??

as an ex driver for paypound i would strongly advise using another service. this company is going nowhere! all the problems in the 1st week were just a start and the 2nd week was worse! i am still owed money by this company who have now seemed to disappeared off the face of the earth with no one answering the phones! having looked in more detail the site boasted the big warehouse in birmingham with all the photos of trailers outside and the photos of the busy working hub. i think these are false as ive been to the hub many times and i dont call 3 people in hi vis and no trailers a busy hub. Please please avoid this company at all costs or it will be at your cost! does anyone out there know which the governing body of such organisations as i would like to contact them regarding this company to see if they can be investigated? i can only hope that people out there stay clear of this company and use one of the more trusted sites? after all its true when they say "you get what you pay for"!

as an ex driver i can tell you that we get a poor deal! which is why they have all left this so called company to which im sure they dont just owe me money to but all the other drivers foolish enough to have joined this company? a lot of the drivers laid out money to work here not just the expense of deposit for the pda and sign writing etc the cost of the vehicle and insurance, fuel etc there are a lot of people out there that seem to have lost out to this company!! drivers, cutomers please spread the word about this company! dont try contacting them as this is a fruitless exercise as ive tried all day! once again AVOID PAYPOUND!

up until today I worked for paypound, they are shutting shop due to 'software problems'...

They wasted my time and money and have yet to pay warehouse staff any wages!! so the drivers aren't the only ones to get shafted by this company . I really wish I had never accepted the job now, I feel so angry, they never even bothered to tell us we had lost our jobs, if they owe you any money I would chase them like mad, no phones were being answered today but I got through to someone using the information@paypoundexpress.com email addy , hope this helps you chase the !!!!!!s down

no comfort to the workers. however their business model simply wasn't sustainable
Had they come in and offered cheap services with perhaps a £1 offer alongside eg a 5 day delivery,or send one parcel and the 2nd to the same address is £1
    then it could have worked
theres just not enough meat on the bones of a £1 service
