paypound express is a dcourier service that charge £1 + VAT
all seems too good to be true, but they have their registration and vat details on their webpage so checked with companies house and yes it is registered,
ive booked my first collection at 7AM for todays collection between 2.30 and 4.30, cut off for same day collection is 4.30pm
they have failed to collect
Has any one here had dealings with this company or know of it, id hate to be scammed for trying to find a cheaper alternative.
Any help ??

Hi,
Had exactly the same problem for monday, still no collection. Think they only started on Monday so are having a few problems. Not impresed so far though0 -
oh dear hope they sort them selves out soon, i have 30 paid orders here and will have some unhappy customers0
-
I just don't see how this business model is sustainable! How can they offer this for a quid? I'd be very weary.0

what sort of service do you expect for £1 next thing you will be complaining of lost/late delivery
if you want a decent parcel delivered overnight dont use companies like YODEL/PAYPOUND/HERMES ETC
pay a decent price and use a proper delivery company0 -
Have used Paypound for a couple of days now, few teething problems, but I think they will get it together very quickly. I say give them a chance as it's about time that we had realistic postage costs rather than the extortionate charges made by Royal Mail and some of the independant courriers working off the back of huge companies for very large profits. Good luck to Paypound Express. Hope it is successful.0

Hi bubblebug
have you recieved your first collection yet and how was it if you did?0 -
well said bubblebug,
what has usually cost me £70 at the post office has cost me £34 at paypound,
ive rang them this morning and been told collection will be made before the end of the day, fingers crossed.
she explained they had some technical problems with the site and the pda's but well on the way to getting it sorted.0 -

So what do you think paypound are cutting back on to offer this reduced price? Presumably the cost of lorries, diesel, warehouses is pretty much the same for them and their competitors.
So they must have cut back on something else.
Numbers of staff - you're going to notice this as soon as something goes wrong and there's no customer service
Staff wages - in which case you end up with unhappy drivers, who at times do a terrible job (just look at the number of complaints about HDNL, Yodel, Hermes drivers. Not saying all drivers are like this, but there certainly seem to be more complaints about these companies than any others).
Profit - maybe. But if they are half the price of other companies, this can't just be it, as I'm sure other couriers aren't taking 50% or more of the parcel cost as profit.
The whole thing sounds utterly unsustainable, we can just await the anguished cries about lost parcels, poor service etc. Impressive to note these have started in the first week of the companies operation!0 -

if you send small parcel with paypound for lets say £2 deduct
vat 20%
self employed collection and delivery driver costs
operating costs for paypound
dont think there is a vast profit in it unless you bulk sell it cheap like YODEL or HERMES etc and we all know how reliable they are
save your money and chuck a few 1st class stamps on at least it will get there0
