Apologies if someone has already posted this, I only had time to read the first and last pages of the thread (will catch up inbetween later) but I found this site good and bought one of their CDs in Waterstones too. I got started with a free CD in the Daily Mail years ago: http://www.meditainment.com/

I have also been studying Animal Communication including a method called the Trust Technique (I know some of you will be rolling your eyes at this, but each to their own....). Anyway, clearing your mind is BIG part of this so I'm finding this thread very intersting :).
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Welcome Julie! I have a couple of MP3s from this company and have found them very relaxing. I'm thinking about doing one just now because I have a bit of a headache (should probably stop thinking about doing a meditation and just DO one!). Animal communication sounds very interesting. Sometimes I feel like my dog understands me more than anyone!

Have been a fan of Darryl Bailey for a while. He's not well known but uncompromising in his communication of just acknowledging the constantly changing arisings of the present moment. I've downloaded the following (TALK 2 - Acknowledging the moment) to my mp3 & finding it really useful when tripping off into anxietyland. Hope the link works

Hello to everyone who has discovered this jewel of a thread.

Thank you Joyfull. It's a great idea to share talks by people in this field and I'll check out the link you posted. I am currently enjoying the talks of Jac O'Keefe ( http://www.jackieokeeffe.com/audio.html ) and Gina Lake http://www.radicalhappiness.com/audiovideo They talk a lot about the ego and staying in the present moment.

Yes, that really doesn't surprise me!

If anyone else is interested, there is another website about the Trust Technique - sort of animal 'whispering' - it's a subriber website but there are a few freebie videos you can view.

I've met the man who runs it and he is very genuine and a big partof it is being in the present moment: http://www.trust-technique.com/

There is a CD set which also has some wonderful guided meditations on but I wouldn't buy it just for those as it's mainly all about animals. I've been using it to work with feral kittens but I really need to work on my own stress/anxiety levels so will explore some of the other links posted too - if only I can find the time!

    Hi Juliebunny,

Thanks for the animal trust links. How very interesting. I have a house bunny (my 3rd in 13 yrs) & just adore having a little living presence in my house. I find she is most rewarding and endearing when I can just sit near her and be totally present ie. not impose any agenda on the situation. She definitely responds and just relaxes or plays around me. It opens the heart to just allow another living being to be fully themselves even if that means chewing wires and paintwork!

I have often heard Eckhart Tolle talk about how we can learn about presence from animals. Here is an example

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle

Wow thanks for all the new links guys, the animal ones interest me in particular:D
Have started my mindfulness course today, and really enjoyed it.Most of the stuff is gleaned from Kabat Zinn, Williams n Segal, but is presented in a very approachable way.We did a full body scan, mindfulness walking and another exercise which we then discussed :D:D
This plus my research over the past couple of weeks, has already changed the way I react to stressful situations, and I am hoping to build even further on this:D:D
