Welcome Shane
I love the idea of a gratitude group, I always worry that for example if I post a gratitude status on FB people will read it as being smugbut to do it in a like minded bunch of people is lovely
Had a moment last night whereby my anxiety kicked in, as usual was the wee small hours and feel the same old fear creeping in. Focused soley on my breath and it really helped.
I have also downloaded a load of free yoga apps......all in my quest to be more mindful AND bendy

I had been thinking through that idea a while ago. I was discussing the possibility with another MSE friend on facebook who is up for it.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0

Hi All
I'm trying not to to get sidetracked into other things until my Mindfulness practice is fully part of my life.
So I'm doing my daily practice, I've been to a couple of sitting 'drop ins' and I'm doing another one day retreat next week. I don't want to come across all 'religious' but it's not a thing like having a facial to me, it's not a hobby but a much more important part of my life.
I think everyone will have a different approach based on their own needs and character and the place they're at when they decide to start something like this.
My good wishes go out to anyone practicing, be kind to yourself and others XX0 -

Ordered the Mindfulness book by Mark Williams and started reading it last night.
Only read up to half way through the first week, but it was a real eye opener, and I look forward to carrying on reading it tonight.Current Debt: 0%.Current House Deposit: 7%.0 -

Hi ShAne,
Which book did you buy from Mark Williams? I have his first book, The Mindful Way Through Depression. I feel like I really need it at the moment.
Candy, I love reading your experiences and am so pleased mindfulness is having such a great effect on you. My pattern is as follows: feel very down, do mindfulness consistently for a while, feel better, stop doing mindfulness, feel very down again. I haven't done mindfulness for over a week now, I'm in self-destructive mode at the moment, eating and doing nothing all day...maybe I'll find the courage to do a little mindfulness later on xx0 -
Hi goldilockz
The book I got is "A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world"
I'm in a similar boat to you, and find it quite easy to enter into a self-destructive mode. However, a lot of the bad habits I seem to have, are identified in the book, which has encouraged me too keep on reading.Current Debt: 0%.Current House Deposit: 7%.0
