As you'd expect lots of good intentions and then before you know it oops how many days did I just miss my sitting practice !
I feel so much calmer and less anxious when I meditate regularly but as soon as I get to feel the benefits I get a bit casual and start to miss days here and there.
It just shows how hard it is to get rid of old bad habits and keep with the newer good ones. Thats humans for you !
I felt really guilty cos the course tutor made us write letters to ourselves before we finished.I got mine last week, and realised how rubbish i'd felt since I had let my meditation lapse :eek::(
He told me, when you feel like you dont need to meditate, that's when you need it most;):D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hi Candy. It is so easy to lapse. And there is no room for feeling guilty. Notice that it has happened and that you have been given this present moment as a precious gift. What are you going to with it? Are you going to wallow in self pity and guilt or are you going to seize the moment? And then the next moment and every other moment when it arises and you remember to do so. I am sure we have spoken about the Christian Pankhurst quote before - 'There is no such as thing as an enlightened person - just a person with many enlightened moments'
Who is going to join me in having as many enlightened moments as they can?“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
Being inspired by this thread, I have also bought the two mindfulness books mentioned. Looking forward to using mindfulness as a way to relieve stress.0
