    Thanks Caz :)

Nearly the end of the month so having a last money making push!
    • List more items on ebay
    • Complete application for H reward account
    • Call council re paying Council Tax by credit card
    • Check out council website for rain water butt

1st 2 items completed. Decided to go for the H account as have an old account with them when my free shares used to pay a dividend. OH thinks we have too many accounts but figure this is just swapping an account to one that will give me £60 a year instead of 6p  Need to be approved and don't know how working part time will affect this, hopefully will be okay.
Mr T has £10 off when you spend £80 next week so trying to keep this weeks shop as low as possible then stock up next week. You only have to spend 1p this week to qualify, wish I could do a weekly shop for that :rotfl:
Nearly end of little ones nap time so will call Council tomorrow.

That's a good one but be careful. You may have a fee to pay for this. My council charge 2%. That's quite a whack!

I can't vouch for it but the santander 123 account pays cashback on council tax. When I eventually get myself sorted on the account front I think I'll be taking this on.
  • Morning, this does vary - we don't have any charge applied to pay by credit card which is great. Tilly

    Thanks everyone :)

Well my Council doesn't have paying by credit card as a payment option so it's a no go :(

Moved onto reviewing our life insurance cover (working my way through our direct debits). Currently have Decreasing Term Cover for the mortgage costing £19.62. No research went into this policy just accepted what mortgage company offered :( As we now have little ones thinking a level term policy would be better but trying to work out how much cover we need, obviously need to be able to cover the mortgage but how much beyond this?
Have followed the :money: links and hopefully should be able to save about £5 a month depending on how much cover we go for :T

Have been accepted for H reward account so that is now open :) Just need my online banking details and then I can start moving money about :D
Requested 2 application forms for new accounts for little ones, only received 1. Did it at the same time so hoping it turns up tomorrow. Have to go into the branch to actually open the accounts, that'll be fun with little ones in tow!
Today is a go out to work day as is tomorrow, much prefer the days at home but it's the most efficient way for me to earn money that I can think of and a 5 day weekend is much nicer than a 5 day working week :)

    End of April update

Mortgage overpayments £500 (target was £300)
    Outstanding £82,032

Ebay profit (after charges and including p&p profit) £48.69 :D (target was £25)

Grocery challenge £329.79 against £300 target :( Bit disappointed with this after I sorted out the freezer. Think it was a couple of trips to the supermarket for odd items that did it as I bought slightly more than I planned!

    May Targets

Mortgage overpayment £45 Ebay profits from last month only as I made a large overpayment in April.

Grocery target £360 (5 week month for us so I'll be really happy if I meet this)

    Ebay profit target £5

Switch the Life insurance to level term

Open new accounts for little ones, still only have 1 application form

Get my £1k back for my H Reward account as they wont let me withdraw for 7 days as need to wait for my phone number to be put on my account. Remember now why I moved my savings accounts elsewhere!

Finally managed to transfer my money back out of my H reward account, only taken a week

Have started writing reviews after reading Frugal Frog's diary, I am actually really enjoying doing it which surprised me. Not sure how long it'll take to get any financial reward back from it though.

OH picked up another application form for little ones accounts so will fill them out tomorrow and attempt to open the accounts this week.

Need to check the Paypal account to withdraw the £45 for May's OP and the postage for the items I've sold.

I'm hoping for a brighter end to the Bank Holiday after sun finally came for the first time this weekend at 7pm, just in time for it to go down!
