Grocery spend now £237.79 leaving £162.21 of my £400 target, always seems to be something on offer that I think it'll be a good idea to stock up on. Bit annoyed that Mr T is doing £5 off when you spend £40 on Wednesday to Sunday shops, I have to do mine on a Tuesday so miss out
I have found the reduced to clear shelf in my corner shop and picked up 3 garlic breads for 10p :T
Trying really hard to not buy things I don't need. Haven't spent anything apart from groceries this week and OH has only spent £12 so really pleased :D

I've just had a Tesco online food shop delivered, so just checked their website and I will get a £5 voucher emailed to me on Monday :).

That's great Sweetdaisy, still wish they'd do it for a whole week or at least vary the days as I missed out last time too.

Made the 1st of my £200 monthly overpayments last night :T Don't think my bank write to me to tell me the reduced remaining term unless I overpay £500 which is a shame as I really like getting those letters.

Started shopping for our new (well new to us) car today as my old one is starting to fall apart, mainly due to it's age. Good news is that I think we should be able to get what we want for under our saved amount so might have some extra for overpayments :)

Have a good weekend all :)

Had a breakthrough on the OH front :T He thinks we can get a cheaper car that meets our needs and put the rest towards OPs, still lots of car shopping to be done but great that he's thinking about overpayments.

Listed more items on ebay this weekend and due to being ill didn't spend much over the weekend. Tried supermarket Chinese instead of our normal weekend takeaway which was half the price. Can't see us doing it every week but will definitely do it again.

Still another week until my payday, January is sooooooo long!

Still spending too much at Mr T, thought I was doing well then all of a sudden I'm at £374. Don't think £16 is going to do another weekly shop! Think I do too much spend to save when there are special offers on but never seems to be a time when I don't have to spend as much whilst I'm using them. I do have a big stockpile of nappies so wont be needing to be any of those for a while :T

Had our yearly mortgage statement, was nice to see that it was already out of date as didn't include our January repayments.

Things seem to be selling well on ebay at the moment and have people bidding against each other on items I've been trying to sell for ages :D OH has checked the Paypal account and there's at least £100 that can go towards a bonus overpayment in February.
  • Hi TwinnyD, I put some stuff on eBay and its not attracting any interest. Maybe boys clothes just don't sell well in the 12 year old bracket. Thing is, they grow so quickly they are still like new, but I guess kids that age, want new stuff with labels. I will have to try again.

On the shopping front, I know just what you mean about buying bargains - maybe use cash and then you can't be tempted? I use a cashback card so I also have the 'but you will earn cash as well as the discount' conversation going on in my head.........

I do find ebay a bit hit and miss, I prefer the hit times! Baby stuff does seem to do well though and some of the stuff is new so gets quite good prices. Hope you have more luck if you try again.
I have a Tesco credit card so earn points from using that. I also find it easier to budget when all our expenditure is on the credit card as I can analyse the spend.

First grocery shop of the month £60 and that was only so that I got the 10p a litre off voucher. Last weeks voucher saved us £5 on a tank of petrol so worth it as I only added cupboard items that I would have bought anyway. Well apart from the hot cross buns :D
OH sorted out a pile of DVDs and games for me to sell on ebay which is great, but then he went and bought a game and dvd off ebay this week which have probably cost as much as I'll make
Need to try withdrawing money from Paypal again as it crashed last time, was worried it might still have done it so have left it a few days.
Have an ebay item that's gone missing in the post so guess I'm going to get to experience the Post Office's claim procedure!

Missing ebay parcel turned up so didn't have to refund and claim back from post office, phew!
Getting all my items sorted for free listing weekend, few still need photos but should be able to get it done as have a fairly quiet (hmmm maybe that's not the best word to describe my house!) weekend planned.

February's £200 mortgage overpayment made. I only have one of the mortgage accounts set up on my current account so keep overpaying the same one. Next month will get the other one set up too so I can keep them with roughly the same end date.

Still need to withdraw this paypal money, think I need a list for this weekend. Love a good list :D
