i have a feeling this has already been answered, but can we literally just close the accoutn once the next match has been paid?
Yes - you need to both cancel the STC, and close the account. However it seems we're in the minority judging from my highly scientific poll over at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=395146

    The relevant T&C is:

Matching funds for February purchases will be credited to your nominated savings account before 1 April 2007 and for March purchases before 1 May 2007, providing that an eligible savings account is still open and you are still participating in the Save the Change scheme on the date that the matching funds are credited.

The number they ask you to ring is 0845 3 000 000 - saynoto0870.com suggest 0207 7857654 as an alternative.

to be honest i thought i was going to stick with the save the change for the sake of it, but now thinking if i dont i could just manage to have the lloyds 8% and hsbc so rather dedicate the money to that

  • After my pathetic amount of only £1.60 matched in February. I made a concerted effort, got my husband involved with his account as well and with the help of MBNA CC account;) we managed to get the full amount for both accounts for March. :T Thanks for the original tip Martin :money:

my matched money for march was paid in on the 7th. I now have full matched amount of £80. Shame they're not extending it into April, they were still advertising the match offer in papers late March. Now, how do we enter martin's special comp?

For March? Heck, haven't got mine for February yet. In their words, it hasn't matched for a "handful" of people and is being looked into. But I should have it by the end of this week.

Just one in a long line of complaints I have against Lloyds at the moment.

  • Hi all

I am keeping an eye on this thread to see when people are starting to get their second months matched money. As soon as that starts we will announce the MSE contest. I have a feeling this will be in the next few weeks so keep your peepers peeled :)

    Cheers
