  • Best way I've found of making maximum gain is by using the help of PayPal.

    Here's what I do
    1) Log into my business Pay Pal account and choose to Request a payment (for £0.01) and enter my personal email address
    2) Wait to payment request to come via email
    3) Click on the payment link and make a payment using the Lloyds TSB card

So each time round I only have to pay £0.01 and make a £0.99p gain.

You may be thinking that the business account used will have to pay the transaction fee to Pay Pal which is usually around £0.20 + a small percentage, but because the amount being collected is less than the transaction fee, PayPal only take the £0.01 as the transaction charge.

If you are overdrawn do they not sweep your current account?

Just had a quick check through my account because the amount this month seemed really low - and have discovered that all the transaction for 5 separate days were never swept. The last date was 20th March. Now what?? Have I got enough time to dry and re-do those so they get through before the end of the month? And how come they didn't get swept - I'm not overdrawn at any point? Aarrgghh.

Are you sure that if they'd swept you wouldn't have been overdrawn? On one of the accounts I'm doing, I would have been overdrawn by 9p and they didn't sweep. As I'd done a lot of transactions on Fri/Sat/Sun it meant I had to do forty odd again!

I'd get on the phone to them and get them to check what the problem is. Did you do it in March okay, or has there been a problem setting the STC up on your account?

Failing that start doing the lot again. You haven't got much time left but you can do 14 transactions a day without the card being frozen!

I noticed that the money didn't get swept over towards the end of last week. A couple of transactions that should have appeared didn't, but it all happened in one go yesterday. Perhaps their computers were a bit slow off the mark. I've done my £50, so can't wait until I get my top-up.

I definitely wouldn't have been overdrawn - that happened to me last month and I lost just over £15!

Will give it until Friday and then ring them.

Best get busy in the meantime - I'm off shopping! :-)

I had been paying a small amount to Next every day.
Now had two letters from them due to unusual activity on account!
