    Actually from the T's&C's:

    From the matching section

Is demanding really the way to go??

    Fair point Thumshie !

However section 2 of Lloyds Terms states:

"2. Matching funds for February purchases will be credited to your nominated savings account before 1 April 2007 and for March purchases before 1 May 2007"

which implies (to me at least!) that the first matching will include all February transactions... so theres room to interpret it either way.

So, I shall be politely requesting Lloyds to honour section 2 of the Terms!!

To be fair, they added the s.t.c. to purchases I made in February BEFORE I registered but which showed up afterwards. So it works both ways.

Well if you make it right to the end of the T&C's:

    I'd say not :D

I'm done an all, cheers to William Hill and whoever mentioned it in another post!

Some of you will be wanting this number soon, so here it is..

Don't cancel until after your matching credit for March has been added - I am sure I read you still have to be participating in the s t c promotion at the time of the addition of the matching funds!!!

Eventually I got 2 x £40 on my 2 current accounts for Feb.

However, today I got a letter from Cust Serv. based on my complaint on the phone that the 2nd STC hadn't appeared at that stage.

This letter says "You were advised that we would match your "change" up to a maximum of £50 per account. This is incorrect. We will only match your "change" up to a maximum of £50 per month until the end of MArch per customer not per account. This amount is also subject to tax. Please acept my apologies etc. "

Meanwhile I have done enough transactions to qualify for 2 x £40 for March. So do I chance my luck and request that in view of the misleading information given, I have already carried out my side of the bargain as I was informed, and that in order to maintain good customer relations, as I have been with them for 50 years, that they should honour their side of the bargain, as otherwise I am being penalised as a result of their staff not being trained adequately???
How should one put it tactfully? Otherwise it feels as though they have moved the goal posts after I've scored the goal!

i see a lot of complaints from people trying their luck by operating two accounts etc etc. i don't mean to direct this comment towards anyone specifically, but it is slightly disheartening when people get greedy with offers and bargains posted on MSE.

surely we should all be pleased that we have the opportunity to 'earn' £80 at no cost to ourselves? i would say anything above that is a bonus.

TO be fair to LTSB, the T&C's are entirely clear; it's more like CS giving dodgy advice. From the T&C's:

    1. From 1 February (or date of registration if after 1 February) to 31 March 2007 we will match the amount of “change” transferred to your nominated savings account up to a total amount of £50 in February and £50 in March.
i.e. the cashback is based on how much is placed in the savings account (limited to £50,) not how much is transferred from the (one or more) debit cards. So, in theory, if you were to open one savings account per debit card, and do it that way, they'd have to give the full amount.

I have had one account all my life (50+ years) and the other one was a joint account originally with my Mum (until she died 7 years ago) and has just continued in my name only. It wasn't a case of opening an extra one to try and make a quick buck. However, because I had 2 accounts, I was genuinely not too clear whether I was entitled to the promotion on the second account, that's why I rang to enquire from Customer SErvices to get it clarified. If they misinformed me, that is through lack of training I would imagine.

I'm not ungrateful for the original £80 anyway, but obviously wouldn't refuse a 2nd £80 if I was eligible. I

fair enough, but i don't see how demanding money from a decent promotion will help anyone in the long run. (i am not accusing you, more commenting on the tone of the thread at the moment).

this is a very good offer and i think we should be grateful for it. some people would really like to be involved but don't have the liquidity or credit rating necessary to earn the cash. £40 a month is great. take it and run!

besides that, it's rarely worth ranting at a call centre operative. the person you speak to is only allowed to do as s/he is told, whether they agree with it or not.
