I have just completed my final amounts for this month by making lots of desposits from my debit card to my egg savings account. All at 1.01 and all seems to be working well.

I'm sitting at £49.xx at the moment, and wondering whether to go past £50 or not.

In order to stay 'under their radar' (because I have made all mine by £1.01, £1.02, £1.03 etc transactions), I'm considering stopping at £49.99.

You have to admit that it would normally be highly unlikely that anyone would achieve £50 in a normal months spending. Maybe they're going to take a look at anyone earning over £50, and check a few accounts for 'abuse'?

Am I overly cautious, or wise to stay under £50? (forget Martin's 'prize', because had I entered and won, I'd have given that to charity anyway).

oh another thing for people who are on orange, even if you have a direct debit, you can pay money towards your bill in store, so you can pay £1.01 towards your bill

I think (and hope) it's unlikely they'll look for "bonus baggers". But if they do I think you'll be on the radar whether you stop now or not!

If they look for "bonus baggers" I'm well done for!! Looked at my online statement yesterday and there's just a long line of £1.01 deposits to Egg from Fri/Sat/Sun!!!

Lol me too, all my payments made on Fri/Sat/Sunday and Monday went through today meaning a massive £40.84 swept over to my STC account. I couldn't see anything in their t&cs about abuse - to me it's a challenge they've given us. I don't think it'd be fair to change the guidelines now. Fingers crossed everyone!

Oh a separate note has anyone else had an automated call from their fraud dept? I got one yesterday and had to confirm 5 transactions I'd made......all of these were the £1.0X transactions to my MBNA card.

Well I'm getting very confused. I've been doing this since Monday and I can't reconcile the 'save the change' amounts at the end of the two days with what I've actually spent, nor with what has shown up as spent on the on-line statement. Is there an unusual type time lag?

No. Just the usual 3 working day time lag for stuff to show on your account. Monday's spending *might* end up on your statement today (Wednesday.)

Wouldn't you be more "under the radar" if you made more than £50 worth of transactions since Lloyds are only going to match the first £50 anyway, so you made transfers that they didn't need to match?
