I hate weak tasting tea and have always found the Sains basics make a strong cup of tea, without leaving it to stew.

It may be worth trying again, if you still don't like them you could use them on your plants.

    ;)

Every time I see people posting about how they like them I think I'll try them again, that's as far as I get though. I've several different brands in the cupboard that have been offer, I've tried & not liked.
I could do with doing a blind taste test because I'm not sure if I do actually dislike others or if it's a psychological thing.

Honestly, give them a try, I am sure you will enjoy them.

Of course we all say there are things that you shouldn't skimp on, decent loo rolls and tea or coffee being some of them!

But.............. if you can cut back on your spending and still get a lovely cup of tea then go for it.

If you other half doesn't notice the difference in taste, just refill the PG Tips or whatever box with the Sainsburys tea bags.

    ;)

I bought some sains basics tea bags last week, and they're due to be started this week.
This was done on the recommendations of everyone here.
If they're not as good as these people have raved on about, I will track down every one of you and demand a portion of the 27p I have spent. I WILL FIND YOU!!!

I tried the Sainsbury's Basics teabags about a year ago and really didn't like them?! Took me a long time to get through them!

Then went for Sainsbury's Gold Label as they were on offer at half price. Currently on a box of Clipper Organic tea which was half price in Co-Op a month or so ago, also very good.

Tempted to try Typhoo next seeing as it's half price in Sainsbury at the moment (our local supermarket). Should I try the Basics again?!

Only if you think it may be worth wasting 28p if you don't like them again.

    ;)

    Go for it.

I can drink sainsburys basics - that's what my mum always has, and I'll have a cuppa when I'm there - I just prefer to drink other teas. But for 28p they're not really to be sneezed at.

I like Scottish Blend but they're nearly £6 for a box

I 2nd that. We mix up Sainsburys basics tea with on offer branded tea for a bit of variety.

My oh is a snob when it comes to brands but he is quite happy to drink this and to top it off they are only 27p!!!

I'll third that! Sainsbury's are basics are great value and they're Fair trade. Have tried the Tesco Value ones and not as nice.

I would:) My tea of choice for a long time has been Twinings Everyday at around £2.90 for 80 bags at regular price but for 27p for 80 Sainsburys basics will do me fine. Trick for me is to let them brew for quite a while. Next door neighbour will only drink PG but I'm waiting to find out what he thinks of them as I gave some to his wife. She's going to make him a brew without telling him what it is -lol
