I love the non-standard job idea too!

I have a lot of things I've been putting off and I'm definitely going to adopt this!

Good luck with the curtain hem! I think it's a great challenge DF, I think I should do it too, as I'm always putting things off :o
    Hi guys,

That's exactly why I started doing the non standard job thing. I had so many things I kept thinking "I must do that" and never did that it was getting to me.

Hello DF2012, I have just found your diary and am still reading through, but I think this is a brilliant idea.

I really think you should start a thread (maybe in the OS boards) - a 'what non-standard things have you done today?' I think the flylady thread is a good idea for some people but a lot of it is just daily tasks that I would find quicker just to get done rather than add to a list.

It would be great to have a thread to add 'I cleaned out the cutlery draw' or 'I tidied the airing cupboard' and share little triumphs. I'd certainly take part.

Anyway, I will carry on reading and I'll be back:D

    Afternoon all

I have been promised a pay rise this year for everything I have done for them
Great news, fingers crossed this happens and nothing is moved overseas
What I have learnt is that if I stop when I go home from work then nothing gets done
    I agree with this
...entertain DS who is part monkey...

This is a great diary:T, which I will now be following because we have similar debt. It's what I had intended for my diary, to post whenever I had made a payment, but I keep forgetting

Hope everything is okay with your daughter

  • Hey chuckles I hope everything is ok with DD!

Im just screeeching at my husband from the happy place which is the sofa...

can you chuck out that old rusty roasting tin we bought a new one to replace!
We dont want another snow shovel incident!!

I hope you avoided the snow in the Sedge as we did in the NordDurham area, we certainly dont need a cracked shovel plus its replacement.

Dont get me started on the £1 turkey baster which fell to bits and he refused to chuck out.

Haha am having a proper bobby thompson night!
    Trying to shift that debt!

    hi all :D

Actually been very busy at work (for a change) so not enough spare time for chatting.

Hope you managed to sort your car DF - mine wouldnt start last week but apparently just flooded although it took a friend nearly a week to come and sort it for me so had to rely on OH for lifts which is a pain as he has no idea of time.

My good news is that I might be getting my PPI back off my original loan which I am pleased about as I argued the point in the first place as to whether I really needed it! Will believe it when I see it though :D

    Keep well everyone. x
  • I can't believe 2 weeks has passed since I updated my diary!!!!

It's been a manic 2 weeks but I haven't been hiding from MSE. Still budgetting and overpaying where I can. Have been reworking my spreadsheet til I am blue in the face however simply can't shave anything else off the DFD I have of March 2014 on the income I am on.

Work wise I still have a job but it looks like the team are going sooner that later however I will have a job until end of year. So they say - again I shall continue as I am until I am told differently.

I have been keeping up with my daily NS job and thank you for suggesting I start a thread on the OS board, I may just do that!

Right the overpayments currently stand at £310.30 plus a load (apx £23) in copper jar. This is on top of the 167 direct debit. I am sticking to targets so am pleased about that.

Grocery budget is doing better however i have still overspent so next month is a real focus on that.

Hope everyone is well? All is good for me at present, car working, kids healthy, food in cupboards and i have will get a pay packet at the end of the month.

I'm off to earn a few pennies now :)

  • Hi DF, good to hear everything is still on track :T I think that is when you know you have cracked it when you can have little breaks away from MSE but still stay with the programme so to speak. It happens far too often that once we don't come on here, we slip into old habits. Well done :T
    Just keep swimming!
  • You know hun, you're dead right. Not long gone are the days where not coming on MSE meant I would find it hard to stay on track and then overspend on things. Now I am MS all the time :) Not that I don't overspend on things but it's all budgetted in somewhere where as before I didn't know how much I had where! Thank You :D

I am getting an annoying sore tickly throat so will be on honey and whatever you're supposed to take tonight as I don't want that back which I had at new year! Never felt so ill.

Hi DF - good to see you around. Hope your tickly throat goes away.

Well done on keeping on track and motivated - I must say I feel a bit more in control of my money these days which is a good thing :D
  • Looks like we have the announcement tomorrow so everyone will know what's going on then.

I fancy a takeaway - wonder if DH will pay for Val day.
