    Great job on the overpayments!

Worrying about your job though - are you going to look around for something else?

Thanks mrsb - it feels great to be overpaying and finally overpaying by a reasonably impressive amount. All I keep thinking is I will have this to spend on what it should be spent on when I am DF!

It is worrying about the job yes however at present I won't let it keep me awake at night as so much can change in a year - however I do realise it could change for worse so I am starting to ask around and update my CV etc. Just to be on safe side.

My grocery spends went TU in Jan! Went way over budget for silly reasons, all of which planning would have prevented. I do try to plan and do so very well for so many weeks ahead - then I forgot I need to plan again for the weeks after that! Feb's grocery budget is £125 which started yesterday and runs til 24th feb. I have £66.04 left as I did a bigger shop yesterday for things that will last through the month. So that leaves me with c£16 for the next 4 Sundays until pay day again. However I think this Sunday will be milk, bread and yogs only. I need a gammon joint for sarnies during month and I think I am aquiring some chicken which I hope I don't have to pay for. We shall see.

Apart from that I intend it to be a very quiet month fro spends from my account until Feb's pay.

Have you noticed I haven't mentioned ebay lol......that's cos there's nothing to say! oh the shame....

So onwards we go. It's my daughter's birthday in this pay which is already paid for now and DH owes me half so that will feel good getting that back! I can't wait to see her excited over her birthday. I've also got 2 days off over half term which I am looking forward to.

I've included in my budget someone to come and help me stay on top of the house as it's been really getting to me and is the butt of some arguements. For sanity sake's I am including it and treating it as one of the debt bills so it comes out of the wage before anything else. Hope it's worth it. Once a week that is and depends on the job front obviously!

Right, best get something else done!

Sorry to hear the bad news on the job front DF. Sounds like you're doing everything right though - getting your CV sorted but trying not to lose sleep over what may not happen.

And, like you say, there's never been a better time to bust the debt! :D

  • Hi DF,
Sorry to hear about your job, sometimes things work out for the best though and it will give you the push to look for something which is much better.

I have help with my cleaning too, it gets too much when you work full time and have LO's, so if you work it into your budget and manage OK then it can be a god send especially when cleaning is causing arguments.

I didn't get my eBay done either...not to worry there are plenty more weekends this year :D

  • Morning all

Thanks for the kind words xx

Well today my overpayments HAVE been processed. This is a big deal as it means the bank have sorted out the bug in their system (if you overpaid by £50 if reduced next month's payment by £50 but didn't reflect in your online balance). Well my balance reflects the payments and I hope they take the money as normal at the end of Feb - if not I will pay it manually anyway AND Feb's payment means I will be able to take the loan sub 3k!!!! Feels like I only just went sub 4k the "other day". Time's a rolling on now. AND (yes another and) I have now paid off 25.4%!!! Over a quarter paid off in slightly over 1 year - this is a big plus for me to reach a mile stone as it's motivation which I will need when this lot runs out!

I am so pleased. I think now I will try and make my overpayments to the loan account instead of the copper jar as it may help the interest?

On the job front I am waiting to see as until it's in writing I refuse to worry about it. CV updated just in case but that's all.

    xx

  • I've done some sums:

Paid 430.54 yet balance is only reduced by 361.78 therefore January's interest is 68.76. Therefore I need to take this into account when working out DFD which I have on my SS but sig doesn't reflect that so will have to update it.

    Shall do so now.

    Congrats on reaching 25%!

The overpayment situation is so silly! I hope your next payment goes out as scheduled.
