Why do McDonalds make ordering so frustrating!

I agree. I hope that the government at some point pass legislation the way they did with tobacco.
50% tax on every purchase of unhealthy meal, no advertising allowed, health warning on every box and every restaurant must be refurbished to look like a trucker's cafe.
Yeah, that really worked with smoking didn't it.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

I'm 5 foot nothing and I weigh less than 8 stone, do I look like I want a large meal? Aaarrrggghhhhh!!!
Eldest is near 6ft and underweight (BMI of 16)....he always has a large meal, I am 5ft 3 and could lose a few pounds, I always have either a child meal or the smallest adult meal....you can never tell just by how the person looks. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

It's coffee shops that get me. Here's a recent conversation (me in bold):
Hi. Large black coffee, please.
You mean a "tall" one?
If you say so.
Here you go (hands me a medium coffee).
Oh - I wanted a large one.
You asked for a "tall".
That's right.
But this is the tall size.
It can't be! That one's taller! (I point to the large cup.)
Tall isn't the tallest cup size.
Well why on earth would you call it "tall", then?! And why did you offer me a tall when I asked for a large?! Aaaaaaaargh!0 -
McD's are great.
My favourite stupid thing they do........................
If you say what size meal you want first they can't put it in the till without asking you the size again.
Me: 2 Large Big Mac meals please.
Employee: Are they............ large?
Me: Yes that's what I asked for.
I've tried it in a few different branches (I like big Macs but I can't bring myself to call them 'restaurants'.)

OT Still no surprise.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

god, it's just a couple of questions and the person serving would probably rather get the order right than you storming back to complain that they got it wrong. people say things wrong all the time so it's always best to double check. its like when you ask for cashback, you'll say i would like £30 please and most of the time the assistant will say it back to you to make sure they heard you right.
i don't see what the big deal is!!!
Firstly, it isn't a big deal. You're getting more worked up about it than anyone else. Calm down.
Secondly, I wouldn't go storming back in to complain as to be honest, I don't really care if I get given the wrap by accident. It's not quite as good, but still perfectly edible.
Thirdly, there's a difference between double checking and repeating the order back, than asking a question. Whenever you place an order, it's good practice for the person taking it to repeat back to you. So in this scenario:
Me - "Hi, I'd like a Spicy Vegetable Sandwich please."
Staff - "Sure, one Spicy Vegetable Sandwich. Anything else?"
That is fine, that is simply good practice, unlike:
Me - "Hi, I'd like a Spicy Vegetable Sandwich please."
Staff - "Sure, was that the wrap or the deli?"
In this scenario, I'm being asked to clarify something I have already been quite specific about. There always seems to be a bit of a discrepency between which stores want me to refer it to a sandwich and which as the deli also.
Would you not find it slight odd to go into a shop and ask for £30 cashback, only to get the response "Sure, was that £20 or £30?" or maybe "Did you mean 2 x £15?".0 -
its like when you ask for cashback, you'll say i would like £30 please and most of the time the assistant will say it back to you to make sure they heard you right.
Are you sure you don't just mumble and they can't understand you? i've never been asked to confirm how much cashback I want.0 -
I can't bring myself to call them 'restaurants'.
Why's that? Do you struggle with the English language? Your language, spelling and grammar all seem perfectly reasonable judging by your post.
To give you a helping hand and for future reference, Chambers dictionary gives the following definition:
restaurant noun an establishment where meals may be bought and eaten.
Hope this helps!0 -

Sorry to be pedantic but it's roughly an 8% drop in 10 years and a 20% drop in 5 years0
