Why do McDonalds make ordering so frustrating!

The reason is so the person at the window can process more than one order at a time. Separating the order placing and payment means they can be taking an order at the same time you are driving to the window, sorting your cash out and paying.I'm 5 foot nothing and I weigh less than 8 stone, do I look like I want a large meal?
If you're that small I'd say yes, you do like you need a large meal in you!0 -

The issue only surrounds the deli sandwich/deli/sandwich/non-wrap.
As for getting out more, if I'm at McDonalds, is that not deemed to be out? I'm fairly certain I don't live there.
Surprised how seriously everyone is taking things. I only posted to have a little dig at something minor, on a section of a forum entitled "Praise, Vent & Warnings". I had considered this a little, slightly tongue in cheek vent. It isn't something that impacts my day to day life in any significant way and it isn't something I'm going to bother McDonalds corporate with. If you'd prefer not to read about it, I'm sure there are plenty of other things going on around the internet you can expend your time on.
It is tongue in cheekIt's hard to express friendly sarcasm in text ! Sorry if it came across in the wrong way. I'll try harder !
I used to order the sandwich before they started doing the wraps and as there was no option it wasn't a problem then.
You'll have to excuse dfh2012, they're having some issues on another thread. It's affecting what they're posting on this one.0 -
I found using the "magic box" in America very difficult, it's an accent thing ! I didn't understand theirs and they didn't understand mine !
reminds me of the time I was ordering something in the Oasis at Meadowhall
I was asked if I wanted 'lairs'
I asked him to clarify.
He meant layers - now I'm originally from Lancashire and when I start to break words down I revert to my original accent. For me the word layers has 2 distinct syllables LAY and ERS - he was pronouncing it with one! It went on a bit...
anyway, turns out he meant saladDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
I work at McDonald's and tend to clarify this with customers as some customers call them sandwiches, some delis some call the wraps delis etc etc. I would rather spend an extra 10 seconds at the counter and get an order accurate than make an assumption about what was said and end up having to waste food, deal with a complaint and have an upset customer. It takes a lot longer to sort the complaint out than to double check something at the till.0

Could you try adding 'roll' or 'bun' if you want a 'sandwich'?
I find if I keep getting asked the same question there's always something you can tag to the order to let them know without asking.
e.g. 'Whopper meal, diet coke, not large, eat in' saves me being asked three subsequent questions. (Usually.)
Of course, as I only eat such things a couple of times a year my lifelong time saving is not going to be great. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
4 hours and no-ones yet told you that McDonalds food is dreadful, Ronald McDonald is the spawn of satan, eating at McDonalds isn't very money saving, it only tastes good because of the fat, it only tastes bad because of the fat, etc etc etc.
The food police are slow off the mark today.0 -
We are spoilt for choice these days
Can I have a coffee ?
Yes, white or black ?
White
Sugar or no sugar ?
2 please.
White or brown sugar ?
White
Do you want coffee in a cup or mug ?
Cup
Would that be small, medium or large ?
The list goes on and on and on .....
Finally: Help yourself, kettle's in the kitchen.0 -

I agree. I hope that the government at some point pass legislation the way they did with tobacco.
50% tax on every purchase of unhealthy meal, no advertising allowed, health warning on every box and every restaurant must be refurbished to look like a trucker's cafe.0 -
god, it's just a couple of questions and the person serving would probably rather get the order right than you storming back to complain that they got it wrong. people say things wrong all the time so it's always best to double check. its like when you ask for cashback, you'll say i would like £30 please and most of the time the assistant will say it back to you to make sure they heard you right.
i don't see what the big deal is!!!0 -
