Just spoke to OH and FIL hasn't got a broken hip, but what they have found is that he has severe arthritis in his hip which may have caused him to fall, they also sent him to see a physio and everything she was asking him to do he was getting confused with and doing it all wrong, so they have decided that he is going to stay in hospital for a few days and have a series of tests carried out, as his co-ordination is all out of the window and he's asking for things to eat that he would never normally eat, he even asked for a bar of "turkish delight" and i know for a fact he doesn't even like the stuff, so don't know what is going on. OH on his way home now to get some sleep as up with him for most of last night so will have to wait until tomorrow now for any more updates, thanks all for the support you have given me.
Change of subject - weird food, when i was pregnant i had a thing for sloppy strawberry ice-cream mixed with prawns, still love the prawns but can't do strawberry ice-cream now for love nor money. I also use to make jam sandwiches and dip them in batter and deep fry them, (poor mans doughnuts), they taste just as good if not better than the shop bought ones - all the family love them, just make sure you cut them into quarters before dipping and frying as absolutely huge otherwise.Very proud to be Strip club member No 430 -
first off, hugs to anyone who needs them. Too many to multiquote; you lot have been busy today!
The remote controls in my house are called "doofers". The TV is just that, the TV
Weird food combo's? This could take me a while!
I love eating raw jelly. Pineapple or lime particularly
Chip sandwiches, crisp sandwiches (but can ONLY be ready salted)
I'm quite partial to a fishcake sandwich
When I am cooking, misery guts food has to be on the left side of the oven, and mine on the right. Same when plating up.
I'm not old enough to have done the sugar shortage, dripping sandwiches or dipping bread in gravy.
Re washing- Tops to be hung from the top and bottoms to be hung from the bottom. When drying indoors, underwear and socks at the bottom, t-shirts and tops in the middle and jumpers, trousers and jeans on the top.
Cant decide whether to go to Boots to try for vits and shots or T to try for 36 packs Weetabix. Either one I go to will have been lurkered anyway *sigh*I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. I'm still not convinced that your FIL hasnt had a stroke of some kind. A stroke can have all sorts of effects, including what you have described above. Either way, he is in the right place, and i hope your OH can get some kip and that you are doing ok in all this too x
as for your food things- your poor mans doughnuts sound lush, but i'll reserve judgement on the other thing :rotfl::rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. When mum was in hospital I remember Mum asking us what we had for dinner before we visited her and I told her "custard'!
French toast mmmmmmm, we used to call that gypsy toast.Made it for my DS and OH a while back and DS said don't make it again it must be so fattening cos it's fried, but my mum and dad used to fry everything!! That's probably why my frying pan hardly gets used now, grill, steam or poach everything. My dad even used to fry his baked beans:eek::eek::eek::eek:jumblejack wrote: »Plain mixed bag.
