This thread should be renamed the 'food' thread, just returned home and one of the first posts I saw was a plate of delicious looking biscuits....:rotfl::rotfl: I remember 'mopping' up gravy with bread, used to do it when younger but don't eat much bread now as tends to my stomach bloat.

I am fussy about hanging washing on the clothes line, has to be done as others have said, tops, t shirts pegged from the bottom and jeans, skirts from the top. If my OH pegs washing out then I have to alter it as irritates me when I see it done wrongly..:rotfl:

We recycle as much as we can, quite easy to do as all card, paper, glass, plastic in one wheelie bin, food waste in a small container, garden waste in a green sac and all other rubbish in another wheelie bin. Since recycling we have very little general rubbish..bin is emptied fortnightly and is usually less than half full. The recycling bin is always full and emptied weekly. :)

Buppie is bread & butter, my mum always called it that when we were little so it's stuck, don't know where it comes from though.Bit like we always call the tv remote a "jibber" and people look at me like I'm mad if I say "Where's the jibber?", remote control is far to normal!!;)
:rotfl:I call my remote control the 'Pinger' :rotfl:

**tuts loudly at all the non-recyclers** If you've somewhere to put it when its full then you have somewhere to put it when its empty. ;)

    Bad bad people! lol

Sat in Tesco car park....wanted a few of the texco magazines but looks like my local extra doesnt have any! :(

    I recycle EVERYTHING!!!

I have the tiniest kitchen in the world and no back door as my fridge lives there.
Whenever I have a couple of jars or boxes etc, off I tootle out of the house from the front door to pop em in appropriate bins at side of the building. Not too much effort really. My kitchen bin rarely needs emptying as a result!

The tetra paks I have to take to Tesco as there are no facilities for them otherwise. No collections.

I put all my plastic bags into one plastic bag and take that Tesco when it is full. I fill it with cereal plastic bags, plastic wrappings, old food bags. Basically anything resembling plastic bags.

Batteries are saved in a jar until full and then taken tho the supermarkets as they can be disposed of there. Even lidl and aldi have a collection box for em instore.

Not a lot of effort really. If you have kids or care about the future, you would find it hard to be any other way. Nice to hear that some MSErs are gonna try to do it for the first time

Anyone doing the RSPB birdwatch today?

I did it today with kids. We spotted 16 species of birds in one hour. 54 birds all together. My father in law has an amazing garden for birds and feeds em like royalty every day. Always loads of activity there. :)

Hiya all, hugs to tinyshoes and bensonsmum for your FIL and someone's mum or mum in law? Sorry trying to remember everything as multi quote wouldn't work!

Regarding the warm home scheme I am so angry with it really, I am on essentials and it saves me a fortune however when that ends the £120 wouldn't cover even close to what I save, and we don't even qualify for it so we are going to be losing out hugely!

Regarding the course thank you for your help everyone.
Tax credits won't help, because OH works but I don't so can not claim the childcare. I have to ring up the NAS help line tomorrow to ask for help, though costs have gone up as was told only £17 per session and is £18 plus I will need 3 extra sessions due to a mistake on my part!

No bank charges on my account as yet and transferred some money in this morning.

Feeling very tired as only got 2 and half hours sleep  Sorry bit of a moan don't mean to :o

Anyway hope everyone else is ok and getting some good stuff whether that be tesco boots or elsewhere :)

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

    Oh wow!

Are those twinks hobnobs (or something like that) from the OS thread?

I have that recipe scrawled down somewhere. It is an absolutely amazing recipe!!! I have made em a couple of times when I used to post there instead.

Could someone pop it on here for others to try?

What a blast from the past. That is something else on my to bake list now!!!!

Well done, they are sheer perfection!! :T

Weird food? My late FIL once put a slice of cheesecake in a sandwich (as he thought it was cheese! He ate it all, so must have tasted OK!

Well, no shots in sight at Boots, and couldnt see any boots vitamins under £5 anyway!

    No 36 weetabix in Tesco.

Mum asked me to get a couple of things from M&S (too expensive for me usually) but saw a friend who said there had been a 'final reduction' on all Christmas stuff. dashed upstairs and almost everything was 10p:eek::eek:

Got some lovely christmas decorations (little teddies) originally £2.50, little magnetic picture frames originally £3.50, and perspex rings originally £5. Fantastic for little prizes at the school Christmas fair! Spent all afternoon with mum peeling off all the stickers!
