A victory for team sanity! it would appear all dfh's troll posts have been removed.

Perhaps those of us who took the bait could go through and remove our posts as well? I've made a start on mine and will do more later.

Just go into edit your message and there's a delete button.

Might reduce the thread to a reasonable size.

TBH these days I would - but that needs the knowledge that some do charge, which is obviously not universal

You can bet your bottom dollar that once a few airports charge ...

Was it easier to pay the £2 and drop off or drop him off at the perimeter of the airport and make him walk with all his luggage.

    It probably was.

I sympathise with you but maybe the above will make you feel a little better about it.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where the ethos is:-

Get as much money out of as many people as we can in the shortest possible time.

The trick is to drop someone off at the on the public highway roundabout outside the terminal building ignoring the double yellow lines. You'll find that the very short walk from there is actually shorter than from fome of the car parks as you're just at the other side of the nearest car park to the terminal entrance.

They don't like you doing that of course as they're losing out on the £2 but the airport has no authority on the public highway. It'll also cause a bit of congestion as it's only a two lane road.

Maybe if everyone dropped off and picked up at the roundabout then the congestion caused would force the airport to remove the toll barrier? Anyone being picked up could wait in the terminal until the person picking them up phones them as they approach (hands free of course if driving).

This actually isn't as bad as Teeside Airport charging people for checking in so you've got to pay as can't get a refund on the flight.

Blackpool Airport charges you £10 if you are travelling, you cannot get through to security and departures unless you pay it, and that is EACH passenger.

I dont mind paying it though as at least you get free long term parking for 15 days, although that is on a muddy, gravel car park, but at least it is near the airport. Last time I went, the car was parked 1 minute away from the terminal.

    Love Blackpool Airport !
